Despite internal corruption, religious extremism, and relentless wars against Chaos, Xenomorphs, and alien factions, the Imperium endures through the endless sacrifices of billions of humans acting as building blocks to keep it moving 116.

In the 42nd millennium, the empire faces its darkest hour, split by the Great Rift into a light and dark side 28. However, the return of Primarchs like Roboute Guilliman and the Lion King has reignited the Indomitable Crusade to reclaim lost territories and push back the forces of Chaos 457 566.
