Background

Makoto is a transmigrator who arrived in the shinobi world thirteen years before the events of Chapter 2. He is one year older than Uchiha Itachi and was born into the Hyuga Branch Family. His parents, Konoha heroes who served under Hizashi Hyuga, died during the Third Shinobi World War; Makoto subsequently lived in Hizashi’s home for several years. 1 2

Hizashi’s death and the Branch Family’s Caged Bird seals shaped Makoto’s ambition. He seeks both to change the Hyuga Clan’s hierarchy and to strengthen Konoha, framing his goal around Hizashi’s hope that new growth could illuminate the clan. 1 2
