No... even the Holy Army, which once had the largest number of crew members, didn't have this many ships!
She continued watching through the Telescope. The sail emblems and colors on those ships varied; some bore fish, some suns, and some crossed oars. They clearly did not belong to the same fleet.
Even stranger, those ships were merely anchored on the sea, their hulls swaying slightly in the Sea Breeze. There was not a single figure on any of their decks.
Could they be ghost ships?... Or some mirage-like illusion? Or perhaps a new kind of Eerie Fog monster?
As the Ghost Ship moved forward, those vessels gradually entered the view of everyone on deck and the skeletons.
The ships varied in size. Some were fairly new, while others were so battered they looked ready to fall apart. Their ropes swayed gently in the wind, making faint creaking sounds.
Ling Chu lowered the Telescope, switched back to her own view, and said to the Skeleton Henchmen, "Set up gangplanks. Board those ships and take a look."
The Skeleton Henchmen immediately sprang into action.
The guard squad took the lead, their bony hands gripping the hilts of their Executioner Blades as they stepped onto the gangplanks and became the first to board the ship nearest the Ghost Ship. Ling Chu followed behind. When her feet touched the deck, she felt the solid, unmistakable sensation of standing on real ground.
