Level-One Exposed Host

Clumsy Bear watched them hurry away, puzzled.

"Why are they running so fast? It's not like I'd hit him again."

Huang Xiaowen glanced at him. "Do you think he believes that?"

Clumsy Bear thought about it. Fair enough. That punch had been a little hard.

Ling Chu was about to plan their next move when she noticed that Lingering Wind and Fading Moon wasn't watching the casino like Huang Xiaowen. Instead, she kept looking at the shops nearby.

"What is it?"

Lingering Wind and Fading Moon pointed. "There's an alchemy shop over there. I want to see what herbs they have."

Not far away stood a shop with several bundles of dried, dark-blue seaweed displayed on racks outside.

"Merchant ships from so many different waters come to Black Reef Island every day. The shops here should get plenty of rare materials. Some things never show up at the Trading Post, so this is a good chance to buy some."

Besides recipes, what alchemists always needed most was materials, especially herbs from unusual waters or the territories of other races.

Hearing that, You Jiali pointed to a shop across the street with cuts of magical beast leg hanging by its entrance. "They should have ingredients the Ghost Ship doesn't carry, too. I want to see if there's anything I can use to develop new dishes."

Ling Chu nodded.

Today was only a chance to scout out the casino. Rather than crowd all six of them inside, they might as well split up and see more of the Inner City.

"Then we'll split into two groups..."

Ling Chu turned to the other three. "Xiaoyue, the chef, and I will look around the alchemy and ingredient shops. You three go to the casino and gather some information. Don't cause trouble."
