Demon Race Wa Emperor

During the Witch-Demon conflict, Nüwa demonstrated strength greater than her elder brother Fuxi's and held Hou Tu in a stalemate. At the time, she was already a Quasi-Sage approaching the mid-stage. 33

After Hongjun affirmed her potential sainthood and granted her Primordial Purple Qi, Di Jun offered her the seat of honor in the Heavenly Court. Nüwa refused to compete for leadership, declaring that Di Jun would remain master of the Demon Race while she remained its Wa Emperor and future Sage. 48

Although she occupied one of the Demon Race's highest positions, Nüwa generally avoided its military and political deliberations. She assisted Di Jun by securing Xi He's agreement to their heavenly marriage, intending to use the Red Embroidered Ball to witness the union and obtain Merit. 55

Creation of the Human Race and Sainthood

Styx's creation of the Asura Race disrupted Nüwa's comprehension of Primordial Purple Qi and inspired her to travel the Primordial Great Land in search of her own opportunity. 65

After witnessing Hou Tu's self-sacrificial plan to establish reincarnation, Nüwa recognized the deed's benefit to all living beings and publicly praised Hou Tu's compassion. 66

Nüwa later awaited Styx by a river, having understood her own Method of Becoming a Sage but lacking suitable materials. Styx supplied Three Lights Divine Water, Nine Heavens Breath Soil, and eventually the Gourd Vine. Nüwa used the divine water and breath soil to mold living beings in Innate Dao Body form, first in her own image and then in Fuxi's image; the Gourd Vine allowed her to create humans on a far greater scale. 70

She proclaimed the establishment of the Human Race to the Heavenly Dao, received the greatest share of the resulting Merit, attained the Grand Dao Golden Immortal realm, and became a Sage. She then entrusted the newborn Human Race to Styx and departed for the Chaos to preach the Great Dao of Creation. 70

Separation from the Human Race

As a Sage, Nüwa stated that she was bound from directly intervening in the Witch-Demon Calamity. 75

When Di Jun sought permission to use Human Race lives against the Witch Clan, Nüwa and Laozi permitted the action on the condition that humanity was not exterminated. The Demon Race subsequently slaughtered Human Race tribes, and surviving humans formally severed their connection to Nüwa despite acknowledging her grace in creating them. 105 109

Nüwa later pleaded with Minghe to spare Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi, arguing that the deceased could reincarnate. Her defense of the Demon Race further alienated her from humanity. 115

Mending the Sky

After a clash over the Chaos Bell created a spatial rift and released Heavenly River water, Nüwa took the lead in repairing the sky. She refined her Five-Colored Stones in the Universe Cauldron with the Red Lotus Karma Fire, producing the Heaven Mending Stone used to seal the rift. 122 123

Nüwa received forty percent of the Merit awarded for mending the sky, the largest individual share. 123

Fuxi and the Human Emperor Struggle

Nüwa repeatedly sought to secure the Human Emperor position for Fuxi's reincarnation. Minghe initially rejected her request because of the enduring enmity between the Human Race and Demon Race, though Fuxi received Human Emperor Qualification. 125 126

She later formed an arrangement with Yuanshi Tianzun: Guang Chengzi would accept Fuxi as a disciple and support his candidacy, while Nüwa would aid the Chan Sect's preaching among Human Race tribes and refrain from acting against it in future sectarian conflict. She further proposed that the Chan Sect accept all Human Emperor candidates while favoring Fuxi through differentiated teaching. 168

When Guang Chengzi's instruction caused Fuxi to identify more with the Chan Sect than with humanity, Nüwa supported Burning Lamp's involvement to counterbalance Guang Chengzi's influence. 178

Nüwa even offered to join the Human Dao in exchange for Fuxi becoming Human Emperor, but Minghe refused. Cangjie ultimately became Human Emperor, while Fuxi accepted the position of his assistant. 180 181

Before the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, Nüwa sent her attendant Ling Zhuzi into reincarnation to experience the human world. She placed her personal mark on him to prevent mortal danger. 218

Nüwa dislikes conflict and does not consider herself suited to govern the Demon Race. Her refusal to challenge Di Jun for authority prevented a potential split within the Heavenly Court. 48
