Background / History

Rebirth and Rahula's system

Ming He transmigrated after a car accident into the body of Ancestor Styx, an Innate Divine Being of the Blood Sea. Determined not to repeat the original Styx's fate of being marginalized and suppressed, he adopted the name Styx and relied on his foreknowledge of the Primordial Era 1.

A mysterious system bound itself to him and granted the Extinguishing Black Lotus, Underworld Bone Bamboo, and an advanced Blood God Incarnation Great Method. Styx distrusted the system's unexplained origin, reported it to the Heavenly Dao, and exposed its controller as Rahula 1 2. After Rahula's death, Styx claimed his unmarked treasures and refined Rahula's heartblood into his first major Blood God Incarnation, Wu Mo 6.

Law Tree and the path of balance

While climbing the Law Tree, Styx rejected Law Leaves that did not suit him, including Wind and Fire, but reacted faintly to the Creation Law. By the final branch, his cultivation stood just short of the Quasi-Sage realm, and two inscrutable Law Leaves called strongly to his divine soul 11 12.

He later gained 30% Creation Law comprehension and reached the late Quasi-Sage stage, but his Destruction Law lagged behind at 10% 25. Recognizing that this imbalance weakened him, Styx deliberately reduced his Creation Law to match his Destruction Law, then rebuilt both to 30% through intertwined cultivation 45.

Asura Race and the Witch Clan

Using the thirty-six Sea Stabilizing Divine Pearls, Styx opened an internal world and used Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Creation, and Destruction to develop it toward a Middle Thousand World. This experience allowed him to fuse his two principal laws into the Beginning-End Law 53.

Styx then created three thousand sentient Asuras from Blood Sea essence blood and wandering souls, receiving Heavenly Dao Merit for founding the race. He appointed four Asura Kings and used the Asura What-To-Do Gui to establish the race's reproduction 54. His Asura Race and later Asura Sect became the foundation of his independent power.

He formed a guarded alliance with the Witch Clan, warning the Ancestral Witches that their struggle against the Demon Clan would end in mutual destruction. Styx offered them a Second Body secret technique based on refining essence blood, giving them a possible path to rebirth 56 57.

Conflicts with the great powers

Styx became a target after his rapid growth alarmed Hongjun and other major powers. Kunpeng lured him into the Eight Immortals Universe Formation, where the Eastern Duke, the Three Pure Ones, the Western Queen Mother, Jie Yin, and Zhun Ti joined the attempt to suppress him 35.

Rather than submit, Styx turned the formation's pressure against its creators. He seized the Eastern Duke's Dragon Head Crutch, used the attackers' combined power to destroy its original form, and annihilated the Eastern Duke's Good Corpse enshrined within it 36 37. Tongtian ultimately broke the formation to save the trapped Quasi-Sages 36.

Styx later forced Jie Yin and Zhun Ti to exchange the Twelfth Grade Merit Golden Lotus for ten Innate Spiritual Treasures and the settlement of their karmic debt 49.

Sagehood, the Netherworld, and other worlds

After quietly achieving the Dao, Styx aided the Western Queen Mother against a sealed Sword Demon God beneath West Kunlun. He entered the Abyss alone, broke the Four Directions Ferocious Spirits formation with his Blood God Doppelgangers, defeated the Sword Demon God, and sealed him in a gourd 62 65.

He gave his Primordial Purple Qi to Hou Tu, aiding the opening of the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Styx later stood alongside Pingxin against the Heavenly Dao Sages when they attempted to search the Netherworld without permission 67 84.

Through the Ten Thousand Realms Ancient Tree, Styx expanded the Asura World by integrating the World of Destruction and other fragments into it. During this process, he discovered the surviving True Spirits of Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi, whom he agreed to help restore despite their former hostility 129 130.

In the Ten Thousand Treasures World, Styx defeated and sealed Mystic Treasure Heavenly Lord with the Beginning-End Extinction Grand Array, then escaped with the Nine Heavens Ten Thousand Treasures Cauldron after confronting that world's Heavenly Dao 175 177.

Alliance against the Three Thousand Worlds

Styx learned that Hongjun originated from the ruined First Realm and had been sent into the Primordial Era by a stronger controlling figure. Although he remained wary of Hongjun's account, Styx concluded that the Three Thousand Worlds posed a genuine threat to the Primordial Era 166 167.

He and Pingxin secretly formed an alliance with Hongjun against Hongyuan and the forces seeking to invade the Primordial Era. Styx placed Lu Ya—now a Blood God Doppelganger—near Hongjun as both a safeguard and surveillance measure, then entered seclusion to pursue the Half-Step Heavenly Dao level 167.

Personality

Styx is calculating, suspicious, and highly pragmatic. He immediately questioned the system that supposedly aided him, reported it to the Heavenly Dao, and converted Rahula's remaining resources into his own power after Rahula's defeat 1 2 6.

He avoids needless risks but does not tolerate coercion. Styx refused Kunpeng's insincere overtures, resisted eight Quasi-Sages rather than accept imprisonment, and threatened the Heavenly Dao Sages when they attempted to impose on the Netherworld 35 36 84.

Despite his ruthlessness, he considers long-term benefit over personal grudges. He helped the weakened Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi reform their bodies, seeing value in future cooperation, and he prioritizes strengthening the Asura World rather than simply destroying worlds he encounters 130 175.

His attachment to Pingxin is one of his few openly personal motivations. Both acknowledge their feelings without pursuing them fully, as they place the stability of the Primordial Era above their relationship 118.
