Background / History

Mu Rong was driven from his sect after rejecting Bi Bi's invitation to join Death Palace. Jade Little Blade assaulted and humiliated him on Bi Bi's order, but Mu Rong refused to submit; he resolved to leave, grow stronger, and eventually make them pay. 1

He later arrived at Spirit Blade Village, where Old Ke took him in after witnessing his giant Ice Crystal Serpent spirit. Mu Rong accepted the village chief's protection and privately vowed to repay the village when he became capable. 2

Mu Rong formed another supportive bond with the Old Monk, whose losses he treated with empathy. He declared his intention to enter Demon Blade Academy and cultivate, viewing strength as the means to control his own fate. 4

At the Martial Soul Temple in Ju Yuan City, Mu Rong awakened an ice-attribute top martial soul and sixth-grade Innate Soul Power. He subsequently trained through physical conditioning, repeatedly running and wielding a Demon Blade before dawn. 5

By the war with the Star Luo Empire, Mu Rong had become commander of the left wing. During the enemy's surprise attack, he used the confusion to organize a breakout with Ka Qi, Lin Feng, and Suo Ling. 70 He later led his group against an elite Soul Sect squad, killing three enemies with a single move and escaping the battlefield. 71

As Mu Rong Chen, he led the Ice Dragon Martial Soul Hall alongside Dugu Bo, Ghost Douluo, and Chrysanthemum Douluo. He ordered the assassination of Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Star Douluo, then directed the assault on the Blue Silver Forest and the campaign against Tang Hao, Tang Xiao, and Ah Yin. 160 161 164 168

Personality

Mu Rong is proud, determined, and unwilling to yield to intimidation. Even while badly outmatched by Bi Bi and Jade Little Blade, he rejected their recruitment and endured the consequences rather than submit. 1

He is also calculating and long-term focused. He accepted Old Ke's kindness partly to secure a foothold in Spirit Blade Village, trained relentlessly after his awakening, and later exploited battlefield disorder to lead an escape. 2 5 70
