"Too ugly!"
Uchiha Sasuke stared fixedly at the diary. Thinking of how he had nearly committed suicide in the diary video, he felt nothing but disgust at how ugly it had been.
How was such a cowardly version of himself supposed to kill Uchiha Itachi and take revenge?
The killing intent emitted by just one Elite Jonin, Zabuza, had nearly driven him to suicide. What if it had been Uchiha Itachi, who was even stronger than Zabuza?
Forget revenge—just standing before him would probably require every ounce of his courage.
"Is the gap really that huge?" Uchiha Sasuke clenched his fists tightly.
He knew there was a huge age gap between himself and Uchiha Itachi, but none of that mattered in the slightest. He was the avenger, the Uchiha Clan's final hope.
"No, I need to get stronger. I need more training!"
Uchiha Sasuke closed the diary, which had stopped updating, changed into a fitted training outfit, and prepared to begin tonight's extra training.
Meanwhile, Kitahara Kaede had just finished writing today's diary. He had no idea that today's diary video had dealt such a tremendous shock to Hatake Kakashi and Uchiha Sasuke.
Having just washed his hands, he sincerely began today's lottery draw.
"Draw!"
A translucent roulette wheel began spinning rapidly before him. Soon, at Kitahara Kaede's command to stop, the pointer finally came to a halt.
Flying Thunder God (Beginner)
When he saw what he had drawn, Kitahara Kaede could not help but laugh. It was actually the Flying Thunder God.
This was one of the rare spatial ninjutsu in the ninja world, developed by the Second Hokage and later fully brought to prominence by the Fourth Hokage. With this technique, the Fourth Hokage became Konoha's Yellow Flash, his fame resounding far and wide.
The prestige he gained through it had even allowed him to successfully be chosen as the Fourth Hokage.
However, after integrating the Flying Thunder God, Kitahara Kaede understood why it had been labeled beginner-level. This beginner Flying Thunder God was only enough for him to learn how to carve Flying Thunder God markings onto kunai and throw them somewhere for travel. He could not truly use it in actual combat.
His hand-sign speed was simply too slow. Only upon reaching proficiency could it possibly be used in battle.
Still, being able to use it for travel in critical moments was already quite good.
Recalling the Flying Thunder God knowledge that had appeared in his mind, Kitahara Kaede found that its formula logic was not particularly complicated. But it was like the Heavenly Rank Techniques and Qian Xuesen's Mechanics Manuscript he had seen in his previous life.
One glance was enough to understand why all the major sects loved geniuses so much. If you could not understand it, then you simply could not understand it.
The Flying Thunder God's formula was the same. Those without talent for spatial ninjutsu could not even make sense of it. Minato Namikaze had passed the Flying Thunder God on to members of his Shadow Guard, yet the result was that they could only perform a half-finished version by joining forces.
Besides talent for spatial ninjutsu, learning the Flying Thunder God required one crucial condition: extreme reaction speed.
This was because Flying Thunder God's fighting style often involved instantly cutting the opponent's throat. But the opponent was no fool; they could see your kunai flying toward them too. If they struck after you and gained the advantage while your reaction speed was not fast enough, you might be counter-killed instead.
Only with that condition could one be considered capable of using it in actual combat.
Unfortunately, Kitahara Kaede had neither of those. He possessed neither talent for spatial ninjutsu nor extreme reaction speed, so a godly technique like the Flying Thunder God could not display its greatest power in his hands. He would not be much stronger than those members of Minato Namikaze's Shadow Guard.
And he could not use it openly, either. After all, he currently had no way to explain where he had learned the Flying Thunder God.
An ordinary Chunin should, by all rights, have no channel through which to learn the Flying Thunder God.
But he was not in a hurry. He might not have talent for spatial ninjutsu or extreme reaction speed now, but would he not have them in the future?
As long as this diary lottery system existed, he refused to believe he would never draw them!
Kitahara Kaede immediately began experimenting. First, he carved a Flying Thunder God formula in a concealed spot inside his home. In the future, whenever he wanted to return home, he could simply use the Flying Thunder God to teleport straight back.
Next, he tested the range within which he could sense his Flying Thunder God markings. It could roughly cover an area within a ten-kilometer radius.
It seemed that a beginner-level Flying Thunder God could only manage this much. Although it was already no small range, it was still far from what Kitahara Kaede wanted.
Still, he had nothing to be dissatisfied with. After tidying up, he began preparing for bed.
Several days later.
At Ichiraku Ramen, Kitahara Kaede was eating ramen after just finishing a mission. As expected of a famous delicacy in the ninja world, this ramen shop was quite good. Kitahara Kaede also liked coming here for a meal whenever he had the chance.
"Ahhh, how could it be gone?! I remember putting the coupon in my pocket!"
A noisy voice came from nearby. Looking over, he saw a boy of about eleven or twelve, with blond hair and dressed in orange.
He was frantically searching through his pockets. Upon discovering that his Ichiraku Ramen coupon was gone, he looked as though the sky had fallen.
It was none other than this world's protagonist, Uzumaki Naruto.
Kitahara Kaede could not help shaking his head. When he had watched this scene in the anime before, he had only found it funny—a bit of comic relief amid the tense plot. But this was reality now.
That meant this was the Fourth Hokage's orphan, Konoha's crown prince.
Yet look at Uzumaki Naruto's treatment, then look at Konohamaru Sarutobi's treatment. They were worlds apart.
"Boss, put his meal on my tab," Kitahara Kaede said.
After all, he knew this was the protagonist of the next twenty years. Getting in his good graces early could never be a mistake.
But he also knew he could not get too close. The moment he said that, he could sense several gazes falling on him.
Were they Anbu monitoring him nearby?
"Sure!" the owner of Ichiraku Ramen hurriedly replied, then went to make Uzumaki Naruto's order.
It wasn't Uzumaki Naruto's first time there. Although everyone else treated him like the Demon Fox and disliked him intensely, Ichiraku didn't think that way. As long as Uzumaki Naruto struggled a little more, he was willing to pay for his meal.
After all, not everyone appreciated his cooking skills so much.
"Ah, big brother..." Uzumaki Naruto froze. He had never imagined that someone would be willing to treat him to ramen.
After all, there had been very few people who treated him well as he grew up. Even something as small as being treated to a bowl of ramen was enough to leave him confused and moved for a long time.
