Background / History

Following Captain America's capture after his battle with Red Skull, Tony joined Thor and Hulk at the scene, then spent three months searching for Captain without success. At Stark Enterprises, he convened Hulk, Thor, and Black Panther after super-zombies began appearing worldwide; S.H.I.E.L.D.'s analysis linked the creatures to Captain America's DNA and identified them as Jiangshi-like entities vulnerable to Taoist methods 1.

Tony revealed a time-travel shuttle he had developed from his father's research more than a decade earlier. Though he had originally built it to prevent his parents' deaths, he had never activated it for fear of altering the future. He ultimately used it with Banner and Thor to travel into the past and recruit Guan Heng, a Taoist exorcist.
