The ship's Gravity Chamber!

Turles toured the Gravity Chamber as Carl explained how it worked.

"Sir, my people and I have finished building the Gravity Chamber as you requested. Thanks to the data from Frieza Force headquarters, we completed it ahead of schedule."

"The chamber covers about 500 square meters. Making it any larger would affect the ship's flight. As you requested, we built it entirely from the hardest metals available. However, since we don't have much Thundersteel, only the central 100 square meters are made of it. The rest is made from Secondary Pili Steel, which can still withstand your energy attacks."

"Because we were short on time, the maximum gravity is currently 30 times standard gravity. Only the central 100 square meters can withstand that; the outer area can handle a maximum of 15 times standard gravity."

Carl gave a detailed report on the Gravity Chamber, then glanced at Turles with concern. He didn't know how strong Turles was now, but the idea of training in a gravity chamber seemed downright crazy.

Training with weights under high gravity was different from simply carrying heavy objects. Weight training only strained the muscles and bones, but high gravity burdened the entire body, inside and out. It didn't just increase the body's weight; it also affected blood flow, the heartbeat, breathing, and everything else. One mistake could be fatal, with no time even to save him.

Carl had wagered the future of his entire people on Turles, so of course he didn't want anything to happen to him.

After inspecting the entire Training Room, Turles nodded with satisfaction. Seeing the worry on Carl's face, he smiled. "All right, Carl, don't worry. I understand the dangers better than anyone. I'm not going to risk my life carelessly. Besides, you'll be right there watching me, won't you?"

After reassuring Carl, Turles looked puzzled. "From what you said, it sounds like the two sections of the Gravity Chamber can be separated?"

"Yes, sir!"

"Since materials were in short supply, we designed the sections to be separated. If we activate the partition around the central area, the gravity in the outer area will be reduced. That's why the outer area can only handle up to 15 times standard gravity."

Turles hadn't expected Carl to design it that way. That meant Raditz and Paragus could train in the outer area while he trained in the center, once the partition was activated. That would make things much more convenient.

At the thought, Turles could hardly contain himself. He wanted to test the effects of gravity training right away.

"Carl, go outside for now. I'll test it out. Keep watch from out there, and shut it down immediately if anything goes wrong. Understood?" Turles knew better than to take the Gravity Chamber lightly, and gave Carl the order sternly.

"Yes, sir!" Carl straightened up and replied just as seriously, then turned and walked out.

Once the Gravity Chamber's door had completely shut, Turles walked over to the control panel. Three buttons sat before him: a plus, a minus, and a red emergency button. The digital display showed the number 1—the gravity inside the ship at present.

Turles knew that one times standard gravity was Earth's gravity, so 30 times gravity would be 30 times that of Earth. It wasn't much compared to the 100-times gravity on the spaceship Son Goku had taken to Namek, but Turles still didn't dare let his guard down.

Son Goku had adapted to training under 100 times gravity after only six days of extreme training. Honestly, that was a little ridiculous. If not for the Senzu Beans, who knew how many times Son Goku would have died? Many people also speculated that his later death from the Heart Virus had something to do with this.

But Turles didn't need to push himself that hard. He could simply increase the gravity little by little.

He pressed the plus button once, raising the gravity by just one level to test it out.

"Vrrrrr!"

As the button was pressed, the machine started up and the gravity changed at once. When it reached twice standard gravity, the air throughout the chamber seemed to turn thick and sticky.

Turles felt pressure bear down on his entire body. His bones and muscles weren't the only things affected; his internal organs and blood felt unusually heavy too, and his heart beat much more slowly than usual.

Turles tried to take a step forward. His leg felt extremely heavy, and the moment his foot hit the floor, it made a dull thud. He took another step with his other foot, and it made another muffled thump.

Every step took far more effort than usual, but Turles's body could handle it. As he kept moving, he gradually grew more accustomed to the gravity.

Turles began slowly circling the Gravity Chamber, each step resounding with a dull thud.

After one lap, he returned to his starting point, breathing slightly harder.

As expected, the Gravity Chamber was a training multiplier. Even a little training under twice standard gravity showed more results than a whole day of ordinary training.

Turles couldn't help laughing. Then he started jogging. At first, he moved slowly, but he soon adapted completely to twice the gravity and gradually picked up speed. Before long, he was moving too fast for the naked eye to follow.

Outside the Training Room, Carl watched Turles race around with ease, his mouth agape and his eyes nearly popping out.

A short while later, Turles stopped, lowered the gravity, and opened the Training Room door.

He walked over to Carl, ignoring his stunned expression, and asked, "How is it? Did anything go wrong with the machine?"

Since his life depended on it, Turles didn't dare let his guard down for even a moment.

Carl came back to himself and replied even more respectfully than before. "Sir, the equipment is running normally. Once we check the internal wiring, it'll be ready for proper use!"

"Good! Let me know when it's ready." Turles nodded and left the Training Room.

Now that we have a Gravity Chamber, the next step is to increase my battle power. We're about to enter the center of the galaxy, and the enemies we face will only get stronger. A battle power of 20,000 is nowhere near enough. I can't rely on Broly alone. My own strength is what matters most!

Over the next few days, Turles and Carl ran repeated tests on the Gravity Chamber. Only after they were sure it worked properly did Turles begin gravity training.

One month later.

The air in the Training Room felt even heavier under 15 times gravity, and the entire chamber was bathed in a dark red hue!

Standing in the center of the Training Room, Turles planted his feet apart and lowered his center of gravity into a stable horse stance. He drew his hands to his waist, palms cupped like a lotus, and focused as he gathered his ki. In a low voice, he began to chant:

"KA-ME-HA-ME"

A blue-white energy sphere began to form in his palms. Once it reached its limit, he thrust both hands forward with explosive force and shouted:

"HA!"

The blue-white energy sphere shot from his palms, transforming into a high-speed spiral beam of light. Its tail traced a meteor-like path as it shot straight ahead.

Just as the energy sphere was about to hit the wall, Turles twisted at the waist, kept pouring energy into the attack, and pulled both hands to the side. At the last moment, the beam changed direction, swept around the Training Room, and came flying back toward him.

Watching the energy sphere rush toward him, Turles raised both arms in front of his body and tensed every muscle.

Boom! The deafening blast seemed to shake the entire Training Room. Thick clouds of smoke filled the air, completely obscuring Turles.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

After a long moment, someone coughed. A dark figure appeared in the smoke, and as it slowly cleared, Turles came into view.

He looked utterly battered. His bare body was covered in bruises, blue and red, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. Both arms hung limp, and he could barely stay upright.

He dragged himself toward the control panel, each step bringing a fresh wave of pain. The corners of his mouth twitched again and again.

At last, he reached the panel and struggled to raise his right hand. He slammed it onto the red emergency button like a heavy object hitting the ground.

When he pressed the emergency button, red warning lights flashed and the gravity throughout the chamber rapidly decreased. Before long, it was back to one times standard gravity.

Thud!

Turles finally lost the strength to stand and fell heavily backward with a loud thump.

Carl and the others rushed into the Gravity Chamber as soon as they received the alarm. Seeing Turles on the ground, they calmly set about administering first aid, then quickly carried him to a Healing Tank.

As the healing fluid slowly filled the tank, Turles's heartbeat gradually returned to normal. Only then did the Kabru Race medical staff finally relax.

A member of the Kabru Race came over to Carl and warned him, "Carl, we're running low on healing fluid. If this happens again, we won't have enough for emergencies!"

"Hm?" Carl had been watching Turles in the Healing Tank. At once, she turned to look at her people. Seeing the serious expression on their faces, she nodded. "I'll tell sir."

The Kabru Race member nodded and returned to their post.

"Ah..." Carl continued watching Turles and sighed softly.

A day later, Turles woke up in the Healing Tank. When the healing fluid drained away, he stepped out naked. After hearing Carl's report, he fell silent.

After a while, Turles asked, "How much longer until we reach our destination?"

"Sir, it's only three days to the next planet. According to your plan, we'll spend half a month recuperating there before deciding on our next destination," Carl reported honestly.

"Good! I won't train for the next three days. Shut down the Gravity Chamber and divert all its energy to the propulsion system. Full speed ahead!"

"Yes, sir!"
