It wasn't just Paragus. Raditz and Broly were also stunned by Turles's words. They hadn't expected Turles to have such an absurd, unconventional idea.

That was right. None of the three believed gods existed in this world, especially not immortal ones.

According to Saiyan legends, even the Super Saiyan—the faith of all Saiyans—was merely a powerful warrior, with no trait of immortality.

Besides, Saiyans had always been more interested in fighting. They weren't exactly scornful of immortality or gods, but they certainly weren't interested in them.

Seeing that no one believed him, Turles, who had unexpectedly grown interested in the topic, began explaining it to the three of them.

"Gods do exist in this world. They're not only powerful, but also have incredibly long lifespans—long enough to lie on the ground and count every blade of grass."

"First, there are the native gods of planets, who are often mentioned. Some are revered as gods because people believe in them, while others become gods after passing a divine trial. These gods may not be particularly powerful, but they often possess miraculous abilities, such as healing or influencing the mind."

"But despite these strange abilities, these gods are still mortal. They haven't surpassed the limits of life, and will eventually die."

"Above them are the four Kai of our current universe."

"Kai?"

Paragus suddenly interrupted Turles, looking thoughtful. "I think I've heard that name before."

"Oh? You've heard of the Kai?"

"Right!" Paragus clapped his hands, suddenly remembering. "I've got it!"

"Back when the Saiyans were still wandering through space, they invaded a planet that had a legend about a Kai. As I recall, that Kai eventually drove the Saiyans away. One of the Saiyans at the time recorded what happened, and I was lucky enough to come across it. I never thought the Kai really existed."

Turles hadn't expected the Saiyans to have encountered a Kai so long ago. He wasn't sure which one it had been, but it probably wasn't King Kai. King Kai wouldn't even pay much attention if Earth were destroyed. Otherwise, Future Trunks wouldn't have needed to use the Time Machine to travel to a parallel timeline and find Son Goku and the others.

Turles asked with interest, "Did that record mention the Kai's skin color?"

"???" Paragus looked surprised. "Do the Kai have different skin colors? Are they not all the same species?"

Hearing Paragus's question, Turles could only continue, "Not exactly. The Kai all seem to belong to a race called the Core World people, and apparently they grow from fruit. I don't know the details."

"Core World people? And they grow from fruit? What a strange race."

"Right! Speaking of the Kai, we have to talk about their power. Their battle powers are only a few thousand, but they can travel between the living world and Other World, so they can recruit powerful fighters from there.

"These fighters might have battle powers in the tens of thousands, or even hundreds of millions. That's why the Kai have existed for so long and witnessed the rise and fall of planets. Every one of them is a master of the martial arts, and some may even have developed special techniques of their own."

"Wait! Other World—you just said Other World, Turles. Are you saying we really have souls after we die? And how do you know all this?"

Paragus could no longer listen. He thought Turles was making the whole thing up. If he hadn't actually seen the record left behind by the Saiyans, he would have lost his patience long ago. And now Turles was talking about Other World, too.

Turles didn't immediately answer Paragus's objection. Instead, he looked at him with a smile and asked, "Paragus, how can you be sure there's no Other World?"

"Uh..." Paragus was stumped.

"There's not only an Other World, but also King Yemma, who judges souls soon after they die. If someone has accumulated enough good deeds, they can go to Heaven and keep their body, continuing to live and train in Other World. Many of the powerful fighters there came about that way."

Seeing that Paragus wanted to ask another question, Turles cut him off. "Are you going to listen or not? Can't you wait until I'm finished? Anyway, where was I? Oh, the four Kai."

"Our universe is governed by the Kai of the East, South, West, and North. The region we were in before was part of the North Galaxy, governed by King Kai. Above the four Kai is the Grand Kai, who's said to be very powerful and was once a candidate for Supreme Kai.

"Above those five Kai are two great gods: God of Destruction Beerus and Supreme Kai Shin. The Supreme Kai creates planets and brings life into being, while the God of Destruction destroys planets. For now, one of those two great gods is my goal."

"All right, I'm done. Ask whatever you want!"

After finishing, Turles shrugged and addressed the three, who were standing there dumbfounded.

Of course, there were also divine beings above this universe, such as the angels, the Grand Priest, and Zeno, as well as Dragon God Zalama and Supreme Kai of Time beyond space and time. Turles didn't bring them up.

The three had been so astonished by Turles's explanation that they stood frozen for a long time, still trying to process all that information.

After a while, Raditz's hoarse voice broke the silence. "Turles, you said there's an Other World, and that after we die, we're judged according to our good deeds. That determines whether we go to Heaven or Hell. How do they decide how many good deeds we've done?"

At Raditz's question, Paragus and Broly came back to themselves, pricked up their ears, and listened closely to Turles.

"Ha..." Turles sighed before answering. "It's simple. You earn merit by saving the world, and you incur sins by destroying it. Given how the Saiyans have behaved, what other outcome could there be for them in Other World?"

At Turles's words, Paragus and Raditz immediately paled. They opened their mouths but couldn't speak.

It made sense. The Saiyans had made a living out of invading planets, and had accumulated who knew how many sins. If Hell really existed, then practically every Saiyan would end up there. The only reason Turles said "practically" was that there were at least three exceptions in this universe.

One was Son Goku of Earth. He'd originally been sent to invade Earth, and if he hadn't fallen into a ravine as a child and lost his memory, there might not be anyone left on Earth now. But Son Goku had since saved Earth, and might have to save it again in the future. He had certainly accumulated a great deal of merit.

The second was Broly. His reason often became impaired as his battle power rose, but fortunately, Planet Vampa was a barren world with no intelligent life, and Broly hadn't destroyed it. So at this point, Broly might have neither sins nor merit.

The last was Tarble, Vegeta's younger brother. Though Tarble was Vegeta's brother, the two were complete opposites. He hardly seemed like someone who could have been born among the Saiyans. Naturally kindhearted, he'd even dared to seek out his brother to protect the planet where he'd grown up. Clearly, Tarble wasn't like the other Saiyans.

As for Turles, though his soul had changed, his previous self had invaded plenty of planets. He didn't know whether that would have any effect, so he still wasn't sure whether he had more merit or more sins.

Turles had told Paragus and the others all this because it was related to his plans. He needed to change their way of thinking. They hadn't known any better before, but now that they had reason to feel awe, he believed Paragus and the others would make the right choice.
