Background / History

Ye Chen was born to a major Yanjing family, but his family was wiped out when he was five years old. An old man took him abroad, trained him into a top-tier assassin, and taught him medical and mystical methods. Ye Chen later built the Dragon Soul Organization into the world’s foremost mercenary organization, becoming known as the Dragon King. 1

He returned to Huaxia under an alias to investigate the destruction of the Ye Family. Alongside this stated objective, he intended to gather influential women into a harem and use their families as stepping stones toward greater power. Suhang was his first target because of its wealthy families and prominent women. 1 8

Ye Chen interrupted Tang Yu and Su Muyue’s engagement announcement, declaring that he did not approve of the marriage. He attempted to take Su Muyue away, but she rejected him outright and fired him as her bodyguard. 3

He then began pursuing Wang Yixue, Jiang Xiaoyue, and other women while seeking to turn Suhang’s major families into his backing. His early attempts repeatedly failed because the women rejected his advances or learned enough to distrust him. 8 9 11

Longchen Group and the Suhang Power Struggle

Ye Chen acquired Heishi Group, renamed it Longchen Group, and used it to project his influence over Suhang. He arranged an extravagant birthday banquet for Su Muyue and secured land for the Su Family to demonstrate his resources. 29 30

After humiliation connected to Mingyue Hotel, he had Long Ya buy the hotel and ordered revenge against those who had offended him. Long Ya’s later arrest deprived Ye Chen of one of his most reliable subordinates. 38 44

Qin Family Scheme and Defeat

Ye Chen engineered an encounter with Qin Kexin, offered her a protective amulet, and attempted to use the Qin Family’s feng shui crisis to gain authority over the family. His Yin Yang Fish Jade Talisman malfunctioned, and the destruction of his blood-refined Jade Buddha exposed his involvement in the crisis. 44 45 51 52

Enraged, Ye Chen seized Qin Ming and forced Tang Yu into a duel. Tang Yu’s counterattack severely injured him, after which Qin and Wang Family bodyguards pursued Ye Chen until he escaped in a hijacked taxi. 53 54

Ancient Martial Arts Conference

While recovering at the He Family estate, Ye Chen broke through to the peak of the Xuan Realm. He abandoned his immediate Yanjing plans and instead prepared to take over Suhang’s ancient martial arts world by controlling local forces through gu poison and coercion. 56 93 97

At the conference, Ye Chen displayed his strength by defeating multiple opponents, intending to lure out and kill Lu Junzhuo. Jiang Xiaoyue neutralized the gu poison controlling his allies, however, turning his own arranged force against him. 97 98

Surrounded by Xuan Realm experts, Ye Chen consumed a black pill to reach the Earth Realm temporarily and killed several opponents. Lu Junzhuo then appeared, and the two rivals briefly cooperated to escape Tang Yu’s intervention. 99

Death

Severely wounded and poisoned, Ye Chen escaped the conference only to be ambushed by Ling Han and Chi Yin. Both revealed their betrayal and their hatred of Dragon Soul. 100

Tang Yu arrived for Ye Chen’s final duel and told him that he was merely a pawn rather than a true member of the Ye Family or the true Dragon King. Ye Chen was decisively outmatched and died. 100

After his death, Longchen Group was rebranded as Longfan Group and revived through overseas business and a foreign merger, indicating that Dragon Soul’s corporate influence remained active. 118
