Background & History

Qiu Xiaozhu's elder sister was the previous Saintess of the Nine Heavens Alliance. Her sister chose to aid a man from the Ye Family, bore Ye Qiu, and was executed under the alliance's rules for betrayal. Unable to save her sister or retrieve the child, Qiu Xiaozhu secretly collected her ashes, buried them beneath an unmarked grave, and carried the guilt for years. 400 401

When Ye Qiu enters the Nine Heavens Alliance, Qiu Xiaozhu recognizes him as her nephew through her sister's bloodline. Believing his Heart-Questioning Incense test proved that he bore no ill intent, she conceals his identity, arranges for him to visit his mother's grave, and accepts him as a disciple. 400 401 417

Her quiet life changes when Tang Yu enters the alliance under the name Ling Jun. After he calls her “Little Pig,” Qiu Xiaozhu strikes him and discovers that she can hear his unspoken thoughts.
