Background / History

The Joyous Union Sect was once one of the southern region's Seven Great Sects, but had declined into the weakest among them. Its shortage of cultivation resources made it difficult to develop talented disciples, and some members left for other sects. Its first-rate status endured largely because Heartless Patriarch remained as a powerful deterrent. 598 605

The sect recruited Tang Yu after he reached the summit of the Immortal Ascension Platform, a feat that caused all seven sects to compete for him. Elder Chu immediately granted him core-disciple status, while the sect committed its resources to nurturing him. 598

Tang Yu's arrival became the turning point in the sect's revival. He became Heartless Patriarch's final disciple and received the senior title of Martial Granduncle; the elders regarded him as a future sect master and sought to establish ties with him early. 600 His cultivation breakthroughs, combat ability, commercial ventures, and acquisition of a spiritual vein transformed the sect's standing among the southern powers. 611 694 712 714

Doctrine and Training
