Mr. Azik's Helplessness
"Mr. Azik may have some secrets, but as with you, I have never doubted his sincerity."
Leonard watched Lynch's departing figure, the words Lynch had just spoken still echoing in his ears.
"Old Man, you always say there's something wrong with Lynch, and now I think there's something wrong with him too."
Leonard lowered his voice and said.
"You've finally realized the problem. The Antigonus Notebook incident made me notice him, and his behavior was too exaggerated. I suspect he's always imitating you and that captain to lower your guard. Now you know something's wrong with him, right?"
An aged voice spoke with a hint of smugness.
Leonard nodded as if in agreement, then said seriously:
"That's definitely a problem. Do you think I should enroll Lynch in some kind of course? To let him know that not everyone you've met is trustworthy. He's always too trusting, which is a serious issue. What do you think, Old Man?"
"..."
There was silence. Leonard didn't think there was anything wrong. He had already gone home and was about to write to a friend to ask if there was anywhere that could treat Lynch's condition.
Lynch was unaware that they were already planning to treat his problem; he was striding towards Khoy University.
Because he came frequently, and Mr. Azik had assured him that the gatekeeper no longer stopped him, Lynch was able to go straight in.
Upon arriving at the office area, he casually knocked on Mr. Azik's office door and then simply pushed it open and went inside.
"Mr. Azik, I..."
Lynch opened his mouth, intending to tell Mr. Azik about the mission he had been on yesterday, but before he could speak, he saw Miss Elizabeth.
The other person was looking at him with surprise and delight.
"Mr. Azik, thank you so much. It was Mr. Trance who helped me. I didn't have any nightmares yesterday. I've decided to give the security company another five hundred pounds as a token of my gratitude."
Elizabeth looked at Lynch with delight.
Lynch nodded in agreement.
Although this money needs to be shared with Dunn and the others, every little bit helps.
"I would say thank you, and hope they can treat you better."
Elizabeth spoke gently, feeling that no amount of money was too much for Lynch.
Unfortunately, as a daughter, she didn't have much wealth.
"Oh, thank you so much."
Lynch's thanks were half-hearted. If Miss Elizabeth were truly grateful, she should have given him all five hundred pounds instead of giving the money to the team so he could share it with everyone.
He really wanted to say it, but he felt it would be impolite, so he could only pretend to be quite happy and thank him.
Sigh, when will these people realize that it's a hundred times better to let a security company employee earn extra money than to let him share the profits with the team?
"By the way, Mr. Trance, the five hundred pounds I gave you earlier was to make the security company take your capabilities seriously, and this watch is a special gift to thank you. I originally intended to have Mr. Azik deliver it, but now I can perhaps give it to you in person."
Miss Elizabeth said somewhat shyly.
She guessed that Mr. Azik and Lynch had a good relationship, so she wanted to ask Lynch indirectly if he had the Lovers. Unexpectedly, before she could even open her mouth, Lynch arrived.
"Thank you, thank you so much! You are such a generous and beautiful young lady!"
Lynch's tone immediately became enthusiastic.
He replaced the original owner's frequently broken watch with this gold watch on his wrist.
That's right, Miss Elizabeth gave her a gold watch.
She's so wonderful!
"If you need anything next time, just come to me, I can handle it all!"
Even if he couldn't do it himself, he would still call the police for Miss Elizabeth and help find Mr. Azik. Miss Elizabeth was just so incredibly kind; how could there be such a considerate young lady?
"Ah, okay..."
Elizabeth responded helplessly, and looking at Mr. Trance's excitement, she thought with amusement that this gentleman also had his flaws, such as his poor communication skills.
However, this Mr. Trance was much better than the noble gentlemen she had met before; at least he wasn't hypocritical.
"Mr. Trance..."
Elizabeth wanted to chat with him some more, but Lynch interrupted her abruptly.
"Are you saying goodbye and leaving? That's such a shame. But be careful on your journey. Do you have your family's carriage?"
Lynch asked curiously.
Mr. Azik suddenly coughed.
Lynch didn't care. He really thought Elizabeth was leaving. Otherwise, a lady who wasn't studying here, just thanking a gentleman, wouldn't stay long.
Lynch even suspected that his arrival made Miss Elizabeth even more eager to leave.
After all, they weren't very familiar with each other, and yesterday he was even dreaming about being beheaded in front of this young lady; she must have been incredibly embarrassed.
If your carriage isn't here, I can call one for you!
Lynch said enthusiastically.
Mr. Azik, standing nearby, coughed twice, trying to get Lynch's attention.
He felt that Lynch was really giving him a headache; he hadn't been like this in his previous relationships!
The girl clearly wanted to talk to Lynch a little longer, but this guy actually urged her to leave quickly.
Although he didn't say it directly, it was clearly inappropriate. Didn't he see that the young woman didn't know how to respond?
"Mr. Azik, are you sick?"
Lynch quickly went over and asked.
This person is his powerful backer; the constant coughing is likely a way for him to seek attention. He needs to pay close attention to this person's mental health.
To make Mr. Azik more comfortable, Lynch straightened up and looked at Elizabeth sincerely, saying, "I won't see you off. Mr. Azik may have caught a cold; I need to find him a doctor."
Mr. Azik's coughing stopped. He rubbed his temples and watched Elizabeth leave in disappointment, feeling that his descendant was likely destined to be alone forever.
How did this kid manage to push the person out so precisely?
You're all better now?
Lynch looked at Mr. Azik in surprise, wondering how his cough had cleared up so quickly.
Is this the Angel's regenerative ability?
Or was that a side effect of the extraordinary item?
"If you had used the same tenderness you showed me on a girl, you would have been married long ago!"
Mr. Azik said with disappointment.
Lynch:...
So Mr. Azik was reminding him just now?
Why not just remind him directly?
He also said that the Angel's cough must be serious, and he was worried that something might have happened, so he urged Elizabeth to leave. He never expected it to turn out like this.
Miss Elizabeth was his primary employer; if Mr. Azik hadn't been so important, Lynch would have definitely escorted the young lady to the university gates.
How could Mr. Azik have the nerve to glare at him?
