Not Eager to Eat
Dunn gave Mrs. Dewitt a day to consider it. In fact, Lynch didn't need to give her any time at all. He saw that Mrs. Dewitt had already agreed and couldn't wait to go with them.
However, when Dunn gestured for him to leave together, he did not refuse and instead left Mrs. Dewitt's dream with Dunn.
"Don't trust others so easily; we need more time to investigate."
After leaving the dream, Dunn glanced at Lynch helplessly.
He previously said that Lynch was capable of handling things on his own, but now it seems he's still too inexperienced.
Lynch:----
Looking at Dunn's expression, he really wanted to explain that after he Advancement Sequence 7, the Stone of Myriad Phenomena could now discern whether someone was lying even in his dreams.
He was certain that Mrs. Dewitt was not lying, which is why he was so eager to invite her; after all, having a good relationship with a finance professional would definitely be useful.
The treasurer in the Nighthawks team was especially important to him, someone who loved getting expense reports.
However, after thinking about it, he still didn't explain.
He couldn't very well say that he, this Sleepless, was "different from Dunn," could he?
"I don't think they were lying. It was shown in the dream, and the information we received pretty much confirms that."
Lynch muttered.
Dunn sighed.
"Dream Infiltration isn't a magic bullet. Go back and have Bersha come over. I need her to help Mrs. Dewitt remember the murderer who forced them to kill that day. Once she's gone, you can go home and rest."
Lynch nodded.
"Okay, I'll go right now. But if I have a day off tomorrow, can I still go to dinner tonight? If I oversleep, Dunn won't call me, will you?"
He asked cautiously.
Dunn shook his head, amused.
"Don't worry! If all goes well, Mrs. Dewitt will be joining our Nighthawks team tomorrow morning. There will be a welcoming Ritual, and we'll arrange a carriage to pick you up."
That's fine.
Lynch's biggest fear was not being able to have dinner with him tomorrow; that would be a complete shock.
After yawning, Lynch returned to the Nighthawks squad, switched places with Bersha, and then sat in the small office next to the Chanis Gate, lost in thought.
He was so bored that he forgot to put some storybooks here.
Just as he was about to yawn, he suddenly jumped up.
His Spirituality almost triggered an alarm in his brain. He thought he was going overboard with the simulation again and was about to undo the Pathway when his eyes fixed on the Chanis Gate.
The Chanis Gate was gently pushed open, and a beautiful woman smiled at him, then said in a calm voice, "Creeping Hunger has no power to attract a woman's attention!"
Lynch:----
Is it really necessary?
He was lying to Bersha. Would Goddess really descend from heaven to tell him that?
"Sorry, I thought it was."
Lynch chuckled awkwardly.
"I won't admit it."
The beautiful woman smiled at Lynch again, then politely retreated behind the Chanis Gate, making sure to close it behind her, as if afraid of causing Lynch any trouble.
That's going too far!
Isn't it just an excuse?
If even the Evernight Goddess isn't helping, can it be that Mr. Azik isn't attractive enough?
Lynch inwardly cursed the Evernight Goddess for being stingy, but on the surface he could only put on a meek smile and say, "I'll explain to others."
Who can blame her? She's Goddess.
Lynch sighed and began to think about how to tell Bersha about this. He was sure that if he told Bersha that it was a side effect caused by other extraordinary items and had nothing to do with the Creeping Hunger, Bersha would definitely make him pay for it.
Losing money?
Wait, is the Goddess just trying to get him to pay her some money?
Lynch opened his mouth, then thought he was overthinking it. How could that be?
The Evernight Goddess is now God; how could she possess so much humanity?
He shook his head, dismissing the idea, and began to think of a new reason for his actions that day.
This is a reason we must consider.
Bersha is new here and still a bit naive.
Once she gets to know him, she'll definitely tell the others about the Creeping Hunger. If the Archbishop then takes this to the Evernight Goddess of Evernight Goddess and she denies it, he'll be completely stumped.
Therefore, he had to find another reason.
Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that his charm was too great for Bersha to resist?
Will Bersha beat him to death?
Lynch chuckled awkwardly, rubbing his face. How was he supposed to come up with an excuse? He couldn't very well say that Klein had done something to him that turned him into this, could he?
Wait, why can't we blame it on Klein?
The Holy Cathedral probably knows Klein isn't dead, but they can't find Klein, so they can't confront him. They might as well just let him say whatever he wants.
That's right, that's how it is. Anyway, Klein can't just rush up to the Nighthawks squad and tell everyone that he didn't do anything.
Lynch instantly came up with an excuse. He stood up, rolled up his sleeves, and patted them lightly. Then he stopped in his tracks, looked at his hand that had stopped after just one pat, sighed, and abandoned all his Pathway.
He had planned the actions beforehand: before making a decision, he had to roll up his sleeves, pat them a couple of times to create some wrinkles, and every step had to be correct, otherwise he would be affected.
Only by removing the Pathway can you determine whether the decisions you've made were problematic.
Lynch for a moment and felt that although he hadn't made the decision independently, he didn't see anything wrong with the idea after removing the Pathway.
Klein was just a scapegoat, neither too much nor too little.
But perhaps he could think of other ways; he didn't want to blame everything on Klein —that would be too Demon.
He chuckled to himself, then decided to take a nap near the Chanis Gate; he had rested all the Pathway and was almost overcome by sleepiness.
As for security—with the Goddess descending upon us, there's definitely no problem behind the Chanis Gate.
Unless there's an Ince Zangwill right here waiting to give him a beating, it shouldn't be a big problem.
Sure enough, he slept for about an hour before Bersha returned.
He didn't even bother to ask Bersha if she had obtained the portrait of the person who had influenced Mrs. Dewitt. He quickly left Old Neil a note with his address and a key, then hired a carriage to go home.
When he got home, Lynch fell asleep before he even had a chance to shower.
When he woke up again, he was awakened by knocking on the door.
Although the servants quickly Door Opening to greet them, Lynch was still woken up.
He got up, washed up, and was about to check the time before heading over to Dunn's for dinner when he heard Leonard's voice.
"Where's Lynch? Is he sick? Have you gone in to check on him? It's terrifying. I suspect he's been assassinated. He's not even eating properly. It's shocking. I've never seen him not get up to eat at mealtimes before."
