Background / History

Originally known as Fukai, Blue B was a Kumogakure shinobi involved in the joint Cloud–Mist invasion of the Land of Whirlpools. He considered the outnumbered Uzumaki Clan unable to resist the allied force and supported pursuing the survivors before Konoha reinforcements could arrive. 62

During the invasion, Blue B fought Sarutobi Toru under Toru's “Shanks” disguise. Toru parried Blue B's lightning-coated sword and proved overwhelmingly dangerous in close combat, forcing Blue B and the other invaders to reconsider their search strategy. 64 65 66 Shanks' repeated raids subsequently inflicted severe Cloud casualties, fueling Blue B's anger. 68

Blue B later joined C in confronting Konoha's counterattack. He recognized that he could not handle the Konoha White Fang alone and accepted C's support; after the allied force collapsed into retreat, White Fang wounded him while Blue B was distracted. 70 71

Kumogakure's refusal to surrender during the war was partly intended to buy time for Blue B's jinchūriki implantation. With the Uzumaki Clan's sealing techniques, he became the Eight-Tails' host and learned complete Tailed Beast Transformation. 82

Personality

Blue B is battle-hungry and eager to test himself against renowned opponents, particularly the Konoha White Fang. 63 He is also perceptive enough to recognize fear behind Jinin Akebino's bravado. 63

Despite his aggressive temperament, Blue B is capable of practical judgment. He recognizes opponents he cannot defeat alone, coordinates with C, and favors keeping forces together rather than allowing Shanks to isolate and destroy smaller search parties. 66 70

Eight-Tails Deployment
