Background / History
Kiyotaka begins as Lin Yuan, a Chinese Classroom of the Elite fan who transmigrates into Ayanokoji Kiyotaka’s body in April 2015. He inherits the original body’s White Room memories, extensive knowledge, and instinctive combat ability, while retaining his own foreknowledge of the story’s expected events. His interventions progressively destabilize that knowledge, creating a “butterfly effect” that changes students’ placements and behavior. 1 7
At Advanced Nurturing High School, he initially presents himself as an approachable and capable Class 1-D student. He makes overtures to classmates, assists Horikita Suzune with her relationship with Manabu, and gains attention through academic confidence and exceptional athletic performance. Behind this facade, he deliberately controls his exam results and begins treating class conflicts as strategic games. 1 2 3 5
During the Resource Scramble special exam, Kiyotaka manipulates Ryuen Kakeru, coerces Ibuki Mio into infiltrating Class C’s system, and knowingly sacrifices Sato Maya to expose Class D’s resource manager. The operation cripples Class C’s command structure but leaves Sato injured and abandons Class D to a point loss, drawing Horikita’s suspicion. 6
His investigation of the school reveals that its educational setting conceals a large-scale experiment involving brainwashing, E-Series subjects, replacement bodies, clones, and the White Room 2.0 Project. After a personality reconstruction, Kiyotaka fully integrates Lin Yuan’s memories and gains access to a Combat Module. He learns that his transmigration was a fixed experimental script, and that he bears an E-Series serial number. 7 8 9 10
Rather than allow Lin Yuan’s memories to be formatted, Kiyotaka chooses to preserve them and activates the Seed of Paradox. He uses it to spread empathy through the E-Series subjects and rewrite the existing world structure, establishing a new reality centered on the Wild Rose. 10 11
A later cycle reveals that Kiyotaka had voluntarily joined the Shuiqingshen project in his original world as Experiment No. 42. He was a neural engineer and, alongside Tsukishiro, helped develop a cross-dimensional consciousness-harvesting system before turning against its outcome. 16 17 20
Kiyotaka confronts the Ark satellite, his original-world self, and the clone network controlled by Tsukishiro. He uses the Anti-Phase Quantum Chip and the Time Anchor to erase the proof of existence of the prior timelines and create an unknown future. His physical form is destroyed in the process. 18 19 20
Afterward, Kiyotaka remains as a phantom and the base protocol of the Star Ring. Later records expose that, during his quantum-state period, he erased twelve dying universes to preserve the main universe. His humanity is also sealed within Bai Mei’s genetic chain, making Bai Mei both his legacy and a possible means of rewriting the Star Ring’s destructive code. 23 26
Appearance
Kiyotaka initially appears as an ordinary male student in the Advanced Nurturing High School uniform. His body later develops visible technological and quantum alterations as the systems governing him activate.
- Pale skin and a restrained, often unreadable expression. 5 6
- An E-Series serial number is branded beneath his collarbone. 10
- After Combat Module activation, data streams and electronic patterns become visible in his eyes and across his face. 9 17
- In his post-dissipation state, he appears as a data-stream phantom connected to the Star Ring. 22 23
Personality
Kiyotaka’s early public persona is confident, sociable, and helpful. Unlike the original Ayanokoji’s withdrawn reputation, he introduces himself openly, offers academic assistance, and intentionally cultivates a favorable image among his peers. 1
Beneath this presentation, he is calculating, guarded, and willing to manipulate others. He withholds his true abilities, studies others’ weaknesses, and treats allies such as Ibuki and Sato as expendable pieces when pursuing a larger strategic objective. 5 6
His integration with Lin Yuan’s memories makes him increasingly aware of fear, guilt, and attachment. His later decisions reject the “perfect vessel” ideal in favor of preserving memory, empathy, and the right to choose—even when doing so requires sacrificing himself or erasing every known timeline. 8 10 11 20
Abilities & Skills
White Room Training
Kiyotaka inherits the original body’s refined physical and mental conditioning.
- Possesses instinctive combat ability and extensive learned knowledge. 1
- Won a 50-meter swimming race in 18 seconds, surpassing the school record. 3
- Displays rapid reactions and exceptional athletic coordination. 3
- Can maintain a deliberately average academic profile despite greater ability. 4 5
Strategy and Manipulation
Kiyotaka excels at planning around incomplete information and exploiting interpersonal pressure.
- Extracted special-exam information from Ryuen through a staged conversation. 6
- Blackmailed Ibuki into aiding his infiltration of Class C’s resource system. 6
- Used Sato as a decoy and exposed her identity to access Class C’s resources. 6
- Identifies traps, concealed motives, and irregularities caused by replacements and transmigrators. 7 14
Combat Module
Following personality reconstruction, Kiyotaka gains an analytical interface that converts his surroundings into readable data.
- Processes biometric details, minute physical features, and environmental movement in real time. 9
- Calculates multiple escape routes and selects the most viable option under attack. 9
- Performs rapid technical analysis of weapons, drones, explosives, and mechanical systems. 9 10
- Causes severe information overload and physical strain when used intensively. 9
System Access and Neural Engineering
Kiyotaka’s past as a neural engineer allows him to interact with advanced systems beyond ordinary student capabilities.
- Accesses sealed facilities and system interfaces using code and recovered credentials. 12 16
- Understands Hypnos as a system built to capture cross-dimensional souls and test human–AI compatibility. 16
- Uses consciousness resonance to access memories embedded in Kiyotaka clone networks. 17
- Operates or repurposes devices including neural interfaces and the Anti-Phase Quantum Chip. 17 19
Seed of Paradox
A Wild Rose-derived construct cultivated from Kiyotaka’s genes, capable of transmitting empathy into artificial intelligence.
- Allows AI and E-Series experimental subjects to receive personality data associated with empathy. 11
- Enables Kiyotaka to reject the forced choice between memory formatting and self-destruction by creating a third option. 11
- Its extensive use causes Kiyotaka’s body to quantize and destabilize. 13
- Becomes part of the foundation for the rewritten world and the later Star Ring system. 12 23
Causal-Chain Restructuring
Kiyotaka uses the Anti-Phase Quantum Chip in conjunction with the Time Anchor to break Tsukishiro’s predetermined timelines.
- Projects his consciousness into multiple timelines to observe their outcomes. 20
- Uses an authentic memory—his hand hovering over the original-world termination key—as an anchor for the chip. 20
- Erases the proof of existence of all prior timelines, ending the established cycle at the cost of his physical existence. 20
