The hose that had burrowed into the Abyss twisted. Suddenly, it pulled out a mass of long, slender silver feathers. Several downy feathers drew together, forming an arm.
Then came another arm, followed by a head and limbs.
In the blink of an eye, the hose had become a brand-new Kismet. Even his clothes had come with him.
He looked at Thor, who was still nothing but broken bones, and smiled faintly as he tried to move closer.
But as soon as he moved, he realized that his upper and lower bodies weren't moving in sync. His upper body wanted to approach Thor, but his lower body turned halfway around and tried to walk in the opposite direction.
Kismet lowered his head and paused for a moment. Somehow, he twisted his lower body around until it finally moved in sync with his upper body, then continued toward Thor.
When Kismet came within a meter of Thor, he opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something. But his mouth was completely hollow, without a trace of organs or tissue, so naturally no sound came out.
Kismet stopped again and covered his mouth, as if he had finally realized how strange this place was.
After seeing what was wrong with Kismet, Thor wasn't in a hurry to recover. He kept most of his awareness focused on the Fate Line.
Following Thor's example, Kismet stopped moving around, too, and drifted slowly downward with the calm space.
This seemingly peaceful space was actually more dangerous than the area outside, which was filled with the polluted Black Tide.
The force field here was bizarre. Every so often, forces completely unlike those of the normal world would appear. If Kismet hadn't been a Tier 4 Wizard, other wizards might have entered, found everything calm,
