Background / History

Forced Mutation and Solitary Hunting

Tom enters the open beta through random deployment and lands in the contaminated hepatic wasteland rather than a beginner village. The Calamity of Extinction reshapes him into a Nirvana Scion. His body radiates contamination that rapidly drains nearby ordinary players’ health, preventing normal party or guild participation 271.

A devoted Titan supporter, he turns the Evil God’s instructions against it. He accepts both Devour Kin and Titan’s Clear the Lesion objectives, using the enemy’s coordinates and power to eliminate parasites. Gu Yuan observes this arrangement without contacting him and strengthens surveillance around his connection anchor to keep the contamination from reaching Blue Star 271 282.

Rejecting Uncontrolled Consumption

Tom initially accelerates his growth through Nirvana Communion, but its healing and energy rewards bring increasingly dangerous hunger. After being swallowed by a Level 39 lord, he kills another Kin inside its stomach, uses its hooked bones to climb, and damages the lord’s throat to escape. He subsequently exploits the exposed core to kill the lord, then destroys that core instead of consuming it 321 322.

When a later quest marks three pieces of newly revived Titan tissue for consumption, Tom recognizes the coordinates as a map of restoration sites. He protects the tissue, removes parasites, and clears poisoned drainage instead. All three sites recover, even though the Calamity’s quest remains incomplete 364 365 368.

The Black Pool and Ancient Guardians

At Level 40, Tom finds that his available advancement requires another transformation in the Black Pool. After investigating, he enters it voluntarily and emerges as a Tier Two Nirvana Predator. He develops controlled feeding rules, but discovers that physical corruption continues even when he restrains his appetite 368 369 370.

The Abyss then orders him to kill an Ancient Warlord. Tom refuses and instead frees the giant from attacking Kin. Inside its cavern, he discovers dying Ancients and a parasite draining their nourishment. His intervention and subsequent food deliveries help the guardians recover, although the Warlord initially continues treating his contaminated body as a threat 370 371 372 373.

Joining the Liver Campaign

At Level 57, Tom sends the Vanguard Legion his maps, enemy warnings, and instructions not to attack the three allied Ancients. When reinforcements arrive, he keeps his distance for their safety and helps guide operations around the Black Pool 377 378.

His advancement stalls at Level 59. Following Thunder King’s advice, he abandons forceful suppression and patiently retrains his body to redirect small amounts of Nirvana energy. Completing the Annihilation Circuit lets him reach Tier Three on his own terms 382 383 384.

Tom immediately joins the Sinkhole Rift assault, kills the Level 62 Flow-Severing Scorpion guarding the eastern feeder outlet, and enables the army to destroy the hatchery’s supply network. Subsequent reconnaissance reveals the exposed rear supports of an Abyssal embankment; he helps plan and execute the pincer attack against it 384 385 386.

Appearance

• Black claws: His mutated right hand can extend five half-meter claws, used for fighting and climbing 271.
• Darkened eyes: His right eye becomes completely black during his early mutations; both eyes are described as pitch-black by Level 31 271 282.
• Corrosion Marks: Gray-black markings spread across his body, persist behind his ear, and deepen despite reduced consumption 271 282 364.
• Black scales: His Tier Two transformation produces a scaled hide. The scales progressively harden along his cheeks, jaw, neck, and beneath his ears 370 377 382.

Personality

Tom is defiant, foul-mouthed, and quick to joke about horrific circumstances. He treats the Calamity as a stingy employer, experiments with reward loopholes, and taunts monsters while fighting. Beneath that irreverence is a firm refusal to surrender his identity or harm Titan for easier advancement 271 282 322.

His early willingness to endure severe injuries develops into deliberate restraint. He limits feeding, gives up powerful consumption rewards, avoids vulnerable divine tissue, and keeps other players away from his contamination. His Tier Three breakthrough comes from replacing furious attempts at suppression with patient, precise practice 364 372 377 383 384.
