Background / History
Ye Tian was originally a cultivator from Earth. In his youth, he apprenticed under an old Taoist priest on Mount Mao, learned physiognomy and feng shui, and began cultivating. After outliving his loved ones, he shattered the void to seek another world and immortality. His consciousness was later placed into the body of Ye Tong, a youth from the First Heaven. 344
Ye Tong was a surviving descendant of the Ye Family of the Second Heaven. The Ye Family was destroyed, leaving Ye Tong, his brother, and his grandmother—the Crippled Old Woman—as the only known survivors. She spent nearly ten years near Cold Mountain City's medicinal market while secretly protecting him. 243
When Ye Tian's consciousness awakened, he struggled to distinguish his own memories from Ye Tong's. He eventually accepted the name Ye Tian, began investigating the connection between Earth and his new world, and cultivated the Nine Revolutions Guiding Stars Xiantian Art left by a mysterious figure. 342 344 348
Appearance
Ye Tian is repeatedly described as handsome, tall, and carrying the composed bearing of royalty. His appearance is not fixed: he can restructure his bones and alter his face through the Five Elements Ghost Ghoul Control Art, frequently using disguises to conceal his identity. 401 438
- Initially inhabited Ye Tong's youthful body. 344
- Can alter his height, build, facial structure, and outward identity. 401 740
- Was recognized as a handsome prince of the Yan Kingdom during Ling Tian Sect selection. 438
- His body later developed silver light beneath the skin as stellar power entered his meridians and organs. 780
- Prolonged use of the Art of Heavenly Secrets turned his hair white; Heavenly Dao backlash later aged him into a near-death old man. 1575 1594
- After mastering the Gold Rule, his skin emitted a faint golden radiance. 2064
Personality
Ye Tian is cautious, observant, and highly self-directed. He declines powerful sects, inheritances, and offers of protection when they would compromise his freedom or bind him to another's path. His stated goal is to grow stronger, return to his own world, and ultimately control his own destiny. 354 984 982 1023
He is calm in crises and adept at reading people, using their expressions, intentions, and weaknesses to guide his decisions. He is also willing to conceal his identity, cultivation, and motives when openness would create unnecessary danger. 575 1420 1604
Ye Tian can be ruthless toward those who threaten or deceive him, often killing opponents to prevent future retaliation. However, he is not indiscriminately cruel: he honors promises, protects people who have aided him, helps fellow humans, and retains a strong belief that cultivation should not require abandoning one's humanity. 961 1062 962 2005
