Background
Takanashi grew up in an overly large room within the royal palace of R'lyeh, surrounded by toys but isolated from other people. She did not know her origins and believed she may have been abandoned. Queen Al White occasionally visited her and treated her gently, though Takanashi initially considered the Queen a distant stranger 118.
Her birth mother was Lilith, the Magical Girl later known as the Overlord. Before becoming the Overlord, Lilith held the Crown-rank title Lord of Thousands and wielded the Imperial Key; the unremarkable wand given to Takanashi by Queen Al White had been left behind by Lilith 183.
She came to Earth under orders to investigate and eventually recover the Relic of the Overlord, a magical tool said to transcend the Holy Domain. Until it appears, her assignment is to build strength and prepare for competition with other claimants 17 199. While in Maple Plain City, she transferred to Kaedehara High School and taught Kirishima Ai how to transform into a Magical Girl 9.
Appearance
Takanashi is a slender girl with ash-gold hair. She generally presents herself with a reserved, understated air, though she independently chose a plain white yukata for the Maple Plain Festival 17 143.
- Ash-gold hair, which she idly twirls when discussing her mission 17.
- Her Thousand Sins form has long golden-red hair and exaggerated, monster-like magical attire 186.
- Thousand Sins manifests blood-red magical mist that condenses into armor and cracks the ground under her power 195.
Personality
Takanashi is usually calm, aloof, and difficult to read. She had few friends in R'lyeh or on Earth, often assumes that she and other people belong to different worlds, and struggles to offer emotional support even when she genuinely wants to help 118 160 300 302.
Despite her detached manner, she is observant and strategically minded. She proposes investigating enemies rather than reacting blindly, organizes evidence, coordinates investigations, and leads planning against the Flower Demon King's headquarters 138 301 429.
Her strongest emotions emerge when Teacher Haihara is threatened. She openly condemns Kurosaki Asuka for disregarding the consequences of exposing or hurting Haihara, and later acts alone to resolve her conflicted feelings after learning that Kazama Kiriori is Haihara's adopted daughter 171 172.
