Background / History
Tang San possesses memories and techniques from another world. The Light Screen confirms that he is a soul possessor rather than a reincarnated native: the original infant Tang San is stated to have died, after which Tang San's soul occupied the body. Tang San nevertheless insists that his body and flesh are of the Douluo Continent and that Tang Hao is his father. 26
He inherited the Tang Sect's Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record before arriving in the Douluo world. Its techniques gave him strength beyond other children, though his Mysterious Heaven Skill remained stalled at its first level until he awakened a martial soul at age six. 12 34
Tang Hao later reveals that Tang San's mother was killed in connection with Martial Soul Hall. Tang San consequently adopts Martial Soul Hall as his family's sworn enemy and resolves to grow strong enough to destroy it. 8 14
Tang San is the son of Tang Hao, a human Clear Sky Sect genius, and Ah Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor who took human form. The Light Screen consequently characterizes him as inheriting both human and Soul Beast bloodlines, alongside the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Emperor legacies. 146
After learning that his Blue Silver Grass carries the bloodline of the previous Blue Silver Emperor, Tang San travels with Tang Hao to the Blue Silver Forest. There, the Blue Silver King recognizes him as the new ruler of the Blue Silver clan and awakens his bloodline, transforming him into the true Blue Silver Emperor. 66 67
Appearance
Following his Blue Silver Emperor awakening, Tang San's appearance changes markedly: his hair grows to his waist and shifts from dark blue to a pure, vivid blue, while his features become more ethereal. 67
- Fairer skin with faint blue patterns. 67
- Long, vibrant blue hair after his bloodline awakening. 67
- Possesses Blue Silver Grass/Blue Silver Emperor and the Clear Sky Hammer as Twin Martial Souls. 67 154
- Future Sea God form includes divine armor. 13
- Future Asura form wields a demonic sword. 13
- His Dark Blue Silver Grass manifests as blackened, barbed blades that exude corrosive sap, contrasting with the vitality associated with his ordinary Blue Silver Emperor. 222
Personality
Tang San is highly ambitious and intensely protective of the people and goals he considers his own. He vows to support Xiao Wu's revenge for her mother and repeatedly commits himself to becoming stronger amid threats from Martial Soul Hall and soul-beast factions. 9 15
He is also secretive and possessive regarding the Tang Sect techniques he brought from another world. When multiple factions seek to capture him for these methods, he refuses to share them and condemns those coveting them. 36
Later Light Screen revelations portray a harsher side of Tang San. He becomes defensive when his future conduct is criticized, insists that his actions represent justice, and declares that he will rule the Douluo Continent after becoming the Asura God. 85 127 128 He also privately decides to maintain the image of a filial son in order to retain Tang Hao as a protector. 179
His hostility toward repeated comparisons with Xiao Yan intensifies his arrogance and resentment. He dismisses criticism of his conduct, declares that he will enslave both his enemies and Xiao Yan, and treats his future supremacy as proof that strength and destiny validate him. 197 222 226

Story Role / Major Arcs
Revelation and Manhunt
The Light Screen first exposes Tang San's future potential, from his rapid early advancement to his eventual inheritance of the Sea God and Asura God positions. The revelation that he will become a Supreme God King prompts Martial Soul Hall, powerful soul beasts, and other factions to seek his death. 12 13 15
After the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record is revealed, the threat escalates from assassination to capture. Martial Soul Hall, the Heaven Dou Empire, the Star Luo Empire, Dugu Bo, and others seek Tang San's techniques and their potential to create powerful Soul Masters. 34 36
Identity Crisis
The Light Screen's confirmation of soul possession causes widespread hostility. Tang San pleads with Tang Hao to recognize him as his son, while Tang Hao initially struggles to reconcile the death of his biological child with Tang San's future potential. 26 Tang Hao ultimately accepts him as his new son and threatens anyone attempting to divide them. 27
Blue Silver Emperor Awakening
Tang Hao brings Tang San to the Blue Silver Forest, where the Blue Silver King confirms his heritage as the successor to the former Blue Silver Emperor. Tang San accepts the role, awakens his bloodline, and gains a growing blue Soul Ring. 66 67
While Tang San undergoes the awakening, the Ten Thousand Demon King attacks the Blue Silver Forest in search of him. The Blue Silver King refuses to reveal Tang San's location despite being captured. 68
Ah Yin's Soul Bone
After leaving the Blue Silver Forest, Tang San begins absorbing Ah Yin's Hundred-Thousand-Year right leg Soul Bone in a cave near Holy Soul Village. Tang Hao guards him while tending to the weakened Blue Silver Grass remnant of Ah Yin. 68
Pursuit of Greater Power
Tang San seeks resources at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, intending to use immortal herbs and search for the Ice and Fire Dragon King's Soul Bone. He gives Tang Hao the Eight-Petal Immortal Orchid to heal his injuries while preparing to explore the well himself. 152 187
Tang San subsequently completes the Water-Fire Golden Body, making his Blue Silver Grass immune to fire. This development strengthens his confidence in exploring the well and in confronting the Light Screen's repeated comparisons to Xiao Yan. 197
Dark Blue Silver Grass Manifestation
The Light Screen's criticism of Tang San's conduct and character eventually drives him into a state of anger, resentment, and self-doubt near the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Dark Blue Silver Grass erupts from the soil around him, displaying barbs, corrosive sap, and a deathly coloration. 222
The same dark form later drains life force and Soul Power from surrounding vegetation, empowering Tang San while further reflecting his increasingly malicious pursuit of control and strength. 145
Future Legacy and Controversy
The Light Screen presents Tang San as the founder of the future Tang Sect, though his present self resolves to keep his techniques secret. 91 It later reveals his Ten Thousand Year Plan to cultivate more powerhouses and defend Douluo Planet from the Abyss Plane, while also highlighting alleged risks and reliance on luck. 129 131 132
Further revelations portray Tang San as a controlling God King. He manipulates Rong Nianbing by threatening Huo Yuhao, pressures future figures into serving his interests, and becomes the target of Huo Yuhao's determination to resist his control. 109 144 145
Future Combat Reputation
The Light Screen presents Tang San's future power as overwhelming while also criticizing his same-level combat record as reliant on superior Soul Rings, Soul Bones, divine inheritances, and artifacts. 64
Despite never cultivating conventional swordsmanship, he is ranked first among the Light Screen's swordsmen because of his future strength and possession of the Asura Divine Sword. Tang San accepts this ranking as proof that strength and destiny matter more than technical skill. 226
