Background / History
The Song bloodline traces its origins to an ancient True Immortal lineage. During the Lineage War, the direct line fled from the Southern Domain to the Eastern Domain, while several branches remained behind to preserve the family name. The departing line divided the Family Heirloom Blood Jade into six pieces as collateral for the branches that lent their elite cultivators to escort them across the Rift Canyon Sea. 103
The southern branches gradually lost contact with the Eastern Domain main line. Their ancestral homeland remained near Great Zhou, where one returning branch established the Song Manor in Luofeng City. To prevent a single disaster from destroying the entire bloodline, the family maintained strict separation between branches; Song Tonghai and his elder brother Song Tongxuan were separated in childhood and communicated only by letter for decades. 11 90
By the beginning of the story, Song Manor was a respected martial family. Its status rose sharply after Song Lingqing was chosen by an Immortal and entered a Hidden Immortal Sect. This prominence also drew the attention of Great Zhou’s imperial house, which had discovered recurring Immortal Seeds among aristocratic Song families and suspected a connection to an ancient Heavenly Lord surnamed Song. 1 24
The Song Manor became caught in conflict involving Great Zhou, Immortal Sects, and the Song bloodline. It was ultimately erased, leaving a bottomless abyss at its former site; later visitors believed the Song Family had been exterminated. Surviving members and other branches nevertheless endured in Giant Marsh and elsewhere in the Southern Domain. 37 103

After repeated attacks and official interference, Song Manor was destroyed. Its destruction became widely known in Great Zhou, though surviving family members later regrouped through the Giant Marsh branch and other Song descendants. 37 90
