Background / History
Zhao Tingxian was born with a Fire Spirit Physique, yet entered the Grand Void Holy Land, whose cultivation environment and Grand Void Scripture were heavily aligned with water. This incompatibility severely hindered his early progress. He secretly built an underground cave mansion beneath the Holy Son's cultivation chamber, where he researched alchemy, the balance of cold and heat, and methods to reconcile his physique with his cultivation method. 186
His records show a desperate search for a balance between fire and water. The hidden cave contained alchemical equipment, blood scabs identified as originating from an Innate Fire Spirit Body, and the Sculpting God Method, which could create a divine statue to communicate with a powerful deity. Zhao eventually crafted a statue with the Dao Ancestor's appearance and appears to have established contact with the Dao Ancestor. 186
Although he was initially unremarkable in the Grand Void Holy Land, Zhao's cultivation accelerated dramatically after reaching the Divine Infant stage. He became an immortal, entered the Immortal Alliance, temporarily governed the Azure Cloud Realm's Heavenly Dao, and ultimately reached Immortal Venerable status in little more than a thousand years. 186 205
The Great Zhou Zhao Clan changed profoundly after his birth. A previously ordinary mortal noble family began producing multiple Immortal Seeds in nearly every generation, with talented descendants entering major sects and factions. Later, Zhao explained that such bloodlines do not result from True Immortals elevating their families; rather, an Immortal Descendant bloodline predestines the emergence of True Immortals. 105 206
Zhao concealed news of the Azure Cloud domain's outer passage rather than reporting it to the Immortal Alliance. His crimes were exposed during the Azure Cloud Realm cataclysm, leading to his expulsion from the Alliance, the destruction of the Zhao Clan's bloodline, and his flight into the Chaos Sea. 161 162 205
Appearance
Zhao Tingxian is a tall, slender man whose presence can overwhelm lower-level cultivators even when he deliberately conceals his aura. 182 205
- Wears divine robes and a Yin Yang jade belt. 205
- Possesses a Yin Yang Immortal Body. 182
- His divine statues bear the title “Yin Yang Xuan Ling Zhen Mo Da Sheng Tian Zun.” 180
Personality
Zhao is calculating and patient, having prepared divine statues, believer networks, and alternate foundations across the Chaos Sea over centuries or longer. His actions suggest that he anticipated upheaval in the Azure Cloud Realm well before his formal break with the Immortal Alliance. 181
He is secretive even when cooperating. Zhao refuses to reveal the identity of the person who guided him, stating that mentioning Chu Zheng would bring heavenly calamity, and withholds much of what he knows about the Immortal Alliance, the Myriad Worlds, and the Azure Cloud Realm's fate. 205 206
His demeanor toward Chu Zheng shifts sharply after learning that Chu followed the trail of the Sculpting God Method from Zhao's former cave mansion. Though Zhao initially expresses a desire to kill Chu, he later answers some of his questions and offers limited guidance. 205 206
