Ye Fan was among those carried by the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin to the Big Dipper Star Region. Before this journey, he had separated from Li Xiaoman, believing their pursuits had diverged. 422

At Spirit Ruins Cave Heaven, his Barren Ancient Holy Body astonished the Six Grotto-Heavens' elders but was judged unsuitable for cultivation in the current era. After being left behind, he accepted Jiang Han's Rumble-Rumble Fruit and addressed him as master. 90 431

Jiang Han explained that the fruit's lightning could eventually provide the enormous spiritual energy needed by Ye Fan's Holy Body. Ye Fan subsequently opened his Bitter Sea, whose golden waves and lightning eclipsed the known anomalies of earlier Holy Bodies. 432 435
