The hypnotist Jango, who had been left behind, and the Cat Brothers were fighting six Fish-Men who had just returned after collecting protection money.
"Filthy humans! You dare set foot on our Arlong Pirates' turf? Die!"
A Fish-Man grinned viciously as he charged at the hypnotist, Jango, a steel trident in hand. They had ruled these waters for years and had never encountered a real challenge!
They would kill these humans, too, and feed them to the Sea Beast!
"Butchie, Sham, Beast Mode!"
The hypnotist Jango pulled out a bladed ring and put the Cat Brothers under his spell. They transformed into muscular brutes, becoming several times stronger and faster, and losing all sense of fear.
Jango charged in as well. He had once been the captain of the Black Cat Pirates, after all, and his bounty now stood at ten million Beli. How could he possibly lose to a few Fish-Man underlings?
Since joining Daddy's ship, they had been forced to train along with the others, gradually growing and improving bit by bit.
As they fought the Fish-Men, half the villagers of Cocoyasi Village rushed toward the port with farming tools like hoes and pitchforks, ready to help the members of Nami's pirate crew kill those despicable Fish-Men!
As more and more Fish-Men returned, they immediately joined the fight at the port against Jango, the Cat Brothers, and the villagers.
Then, a few Fish-Men drove a huge Cow Sea Beast into a vicious charge against the Big Daddy Pirates' warship, the Dreadnaught Sabre!
Even Jango was frightened, but remembering how much more terrifying Daddy was, he gritted his teeth and charged toward the Cow Sea Beast!
"Hey, you piece-of-junk sea monster! Look at me!!"
The hypnotist Jango stared at the Cow Sea Beast, cold sweat running down his face. He pointed his hypnotic ring at it and used his hypnosis skill.
"Hahaha! What the hell is this? Are you trying to make us die laughing?"
The Fish-Man standing on the Cow Sea Beast laughed, looking at Jango as if he were an idiot.
But the next moment, the Cow Sea Beast's eyes began to spin in circles, and it toppled straight into the sea. It went down even straighter than Ma Wubian, crashing into the water with a huge splash that sent the Fish-Men on its back flying.
"Momoo! You useless piece of crap!! Wake up!"
A Fish-Man underling roared furiously, gripping his trident and repeatedly stabbing the Cow Sea Beast in its tender backside.
That heartless assault made the Cow Sea Beast experience what ten out of ten pain felt like!
"Moo!!!!"
The pain made the Cow Sea Beast's eyes turn red as it went berserk. It whipped its tail, smacking the Fish-Man into a bloody pulp that dissolved into the sea.
Now out of control, the Cow Sea Beast rampaged on, charging wildly at the Big Daddy Pirates' ship.
"Crap! I can't control it! Run!!"
The hypnotist Jango took off running. His hypnotic ring was completely useless against a Sea Beast that had lost its mind.
The Cat Brothers didn't dare stay and guard the ship either. They turned and fled, even if it meant getting beaten senseless by Captain Daddy. If they didn't run now, the Sea Beast would smash them to death.
The villagers at the port scattered in a panic. They were afraid to die, too, but then they saw a young man running toward them at full speed.
"Captain! We can't hold out!"
Jango and the Cat Brothers saw Daddy charging toward them and shouted in excitement, as if they had seen a god.
"Move!"
Barrier: Sky Hammer!!
As Daddy sprinted, a barrier hammer more than ten meters long extended from his right hand. He slammed it down hard on the rampaging Cow Sea Beast!
The blow made the Cow Sea Beast's eyes bulge. It was knocked unconscious instantly and collapsed onto the sea, its huge body kicking up another enormous wave. It bobbed up and down several times before slowly floating on the surface.
"He knocked Momoo out!!"
"That's the captain of the Big Daddy Pirates!!"
"Why hasn't Big Brother Arlong come out to deal with them?!"
"Quick! Go tell Big Brother Arlong!"
The Fish-Man underlings shouted frantically. Facing the Big Daddy Pirates, whose captain had a bounty equal to Arlong's, they were getting nervous!
"No need to look for him! I'll send you to meet him!"
Basic Technique: Five-Piercer!!
Daddy drew the Sandai Kitetsu and charged. A Z-shaped flash of swordlight streaked past, and five Fish-Man underlings fell, spurting blood.
Jango and the Cat Brothers watched their captain display his might with excitement. In just two moves, he had taken down the huge Cow Sea Beast and five Fish-Men!
"You three! Double your training from now on!!"
Daddy glanced at Jango and the Cat Brothers, then looked out at the boats and dorsal fins gradually appearing on the water. Some Fish-Men had swum over to collect protection money.
"Yes, Captain!"
The three of them didn't dare talk back to Captain Daddy. And since he hadn't punished them for failing to guard the ship, they considered themselves extremely lucky!
Perhaps they had noticed something strange happening at Cocoyasi Village's port. The Fish-Men waited until ten or twenty of them had gathered before charging back together.
"What's going on!!!"
The Fish-Men saw the blood along the shore and Momoo lying unconscious. Furious, they leaped onto land, ready to kill Daddy and all the villagers who had gathered there!
"Hey, hey! Daddy, are you still keeping all the fun to yourself?"
Pirate Hunter Zoro and Hundred Plans Kuro had also come from Arlong Park and reached the port.
"Why are they coming from the territory?! Didn't Big Brother Arlong kill them?!"
Some Fish-Man underlings shouted, but a terrifying thought began to take shape in their minds. Could Big Brother Arlong have been defeated?
"Don't let them escape!"
Daddy said coolly, then charged forward at full speed again. Behind him, Zoro and Kuro drew their swords and plunged into the crowd of Fish-Men.
In just a few dozen seconds, the ten or twenty Fish-Men had fallen on the island without even getting the chance to escape back into the sea!
"Get out here and clean this up!!"
Daddy called to Jango and the Cat Brothers. The three of them hurried over and dragged away the Fish-Men's bodies, so they wouldn't frighten the others returning to shore.
The villagers watched the brutal pirates nervously, but remembering that they were Nami's companions, they steeled themselves and helped carry the bodies and fetch water to wash the ground.
Before long, the seawater by the port had turned red!
"How many are left?"
Daddy asked Nami as she ran over, not sounding the least bit concerned about the Fish-Men.
"There are still thirty-nine Fish-Men who haven't shown up!"
Nami's eyes were red. Even though she had just cried with excitement for a long time, she had quickly counted the Fish-Men's bodies. She hated them to the core.
She remembered every single one of them!
"Zoro, haul this Sea Beast up and tie a rope around its nose! From now on, it'll pull our ship!"
Daddy looked at the unconscious Cow Sea Beast and called to Zoro. Daddy was a landlubber now and couldn't go into the sea, so he couldn't haul it back to shore himself!
