Background

Qian Daoliu is the Grand Elder of Martial Soul Hall, head of the Qian Clan, and High Priest connected to the Angel God. His Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul made him one of the continent's defining powerhouses, historically known as “Sky Invincible” for his aerial speed and the sunlight-enhanced power of his light-and-fire attributes. 4 201

In his youth, he fought Tang Chen, but lost after choosing to meet the Clear Sky Hammer wielder in a direct clash rather than using the Six-Winged Angel's superior mobility and ranged fighting potential. Tang Chen later acknowledges that Qian Daoliu had not used Angel Divine Power in that battle and was stronger than public accounts suggested. 4 268

Qian Daoliu also deliberately lost to Bo Saixi, allowing her to believe that he was the weakest among the three great Limit Douluo. This concealment contributed to her long-standing misunderstanding of his true strength. 284

While away from Martial Soul City, Qian Daoliu detected the spatial disturbance caused by three-year-old Ao Zhan's arrival on the Douluo Continent. He secretly observed the child, prepared to eliminate him if he proved malicious, but instead saw Ao Zhan aid Ye Renxin in gathering herbs from a cliff. Convinced of the boy's character, Qian Daoliu brought him into Martial Soul Hall. 8 55

Personality

Qian Daoliu is cautious, observant, and deeply protective of Martial Soul Hall and the Qian Clan. Before admitting Ao Zhan into the Hall, he watched the unfamiliar child in secret and was prepared to act if he found malicious intent. He later restrains the elders during Ao Zhan's confrontation with Bibi Dong so that he can assess the boy's true capabilities. 8

He is particularly devoted to Qian Renxue, celebrating her Innate Soul Power Level 20 and preserving his scarce Angel Divine Power for her future god trials even while Qian Xunji's Martial Soul requires healing. He also seeks assurance that Ao Zhan will protect Qian Renxue for life before accepting the closeness between the two. 2 16 32

Though formerly inclined toward chivalrous conduct, his awakening of Pluto's Exotic Energy changes his outlook. He ceases opposing Martial Soul Hall's campaign against the Clear Sky Sect and becomes willing to intimidate and cripple its disciples. After Tang Hao severely injures Qian Xunji, Qian Daoliu cannot heal the damage to his son's Martial Soul through ordinary means. He prepares to use limited Angel Divine Power while preserving enough for Qian Renxue's god trials. 31 32

Bibi Dong's apparent murder of Qian Xunji triggers Qian Daoliu's dormant Pluto Exotic Energy. Ao Zhan awakens him from Pluto's “hundred-thousand-year loneliness,” after which Qian Daoliu must confront the loss of his holy power and appearance. 34 35 36

At the World-Destroying Thunder Dragon Sect, Qian Daoliu demands compensation for Thunder Academy's slander of Ao Zhan. Yu Yuanzhen challenges him in the sky, believing that Qian Daoliu's transformed dark power has removed his historic advantage. 201 202

Qian Daoliu instead masters his Pluto Armament in battle, counters the Nirvana Thunder Domain with black holes, and defeats Yu Yuanzhen without needing to consume him. He collects the one million Gold Soul Coins owed to Martial Soul Hall and returns after gathering intelligence on the sect. 203 204

Tang Chen's Return

After becoming the Asura God's High Priest, Tang Chen challenges Martial Soul Hall in an attempt to settle matters with Qian Daoliu.
