Background and History

Dimon operated the Elixir of Immortality Bar on Hachinosu Island before joining the Rocks Pirates. His first wanted poster already carried a 500 million Belly bounty, earned after the capture of a Celestial Dragon. His brewing of the Elixir of Immortality became known among the Rocks Pirates and quickly established Devil Fruits as the price for his product 4 10 15.

He developed his Demon powers by devouring Devil Fruits and living targets. After surviving Roger’s sword strikes and revealing his winged Demon Form, he recognized that his human form could not contend with King-level opponents directly, making further growth a priority 19 21.

Following the God Valley period, Dimon separated from the Rocks Pirates and expanded his own influence. He became Wano’s Shogun, enacted the Sword Ban, used arrested samurai as forced labor, and spent five years excavating the dormant Ancient Weapon Pluton beneath Ancient Wano 27 35 37.

Dimon later formed the New Era organization by gathering powerful younger figures and converting selected people into demons or subordinates. His long-term operations included Devil Fruit trading, ability hunting, the manufacture of Elixir of Immortality, the recovery of Ancient Weapons, and manipulation of Marine and pirate forces alike 85 113 197 267 273.

Appearance

Dimon normally appears in human form, but can alter his body through Demon Form, the Age-Age Fruit’s Twisted Future, and borrowed Devil Fruit powers.

  • Demon Form — A black-winged demonic transformation capable of flight; it substantially increases his combat power 17 19.
  • Young Dio form — He can appear as a child while retaining overwhelming physical strength and combat ability 147.
  • Toy Demon form — A plush humanoid Little Demon with small wings, created by borrowing the Toy-Toy Fruit’s power 200.
  • Transformed forms — His Age-Age Fruit power can temporarily change his own form or the forms of others 57 110 278.

Personality

Dimon is calculating, opportunistic, and unusually business-minded. He treats Devil Fruits, immortality, powerful allies, and even enemies as resources to be acquired, cultivated, traded, or consumed. His reputation as a brewer is supported by consistently honoring his exchanges, including transactions with pirates, Marines, and the World Government 10 49 138.

He is also cruel when pursuing power. He uses forced labor in Wano, conducts lethal multi-fruit experiments on prisoners, forcibly recruits useful people, and turns others into demons or possessions without regard for consent 37 42 84 136.

Despite this ruthlessness, Dimon invests in people he considers valuable. He gives Kuma a modified Devil Fruit, entrusts Abel with major responsibilities, aids Buggy’s position in the East Blue, and offers work and protection to Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, and Kawamatsu 31 57 111 197.

He also enjoys provoking others for amusement, particularly younger or weaker targets. His pranks and bullying include transforming Shanks and Luffy into women, frightening Charlotte Linlin’s children during their childhood, and demanding a kowtow from Nami 57 110 180 275.

Abilities & Skills

Demon Physiology and Devouring

Dimon is an immortal Demon who grows by consuming Devil Fruits and devouring immortals. Devouring can absorb a target’s memories, Haki, knowledge, and combat potential.

  • Devouring Devil Fruits grants Demon Points, with stronger fruits yielding more points 9 16 65.
  • Devouring immortals allows him to absorb their memories and abilities as nourishment 97 130.
  • He rapidly recovers from otherwise fatal injuries, including the loss of both arms and part of his upper body 19.
  • He can consume immortal targets despite their regenerative abilities, as demonstrated against Ochoku and Columbus 77 97.
  • His Devil Fruit consumption does not permanently deplete the world’s supply; consumed fruits eventually regenerate 65 136.

Elixir of Immortality

Dimon’s first Demon Skill creates an Elixir of Immortality, which he uses as both a commodity and a means of building influence.

  • Trades elixir for Devil Fruits, information, protection, and cooperation 10 41 65.
  • The elixir grants immortality to its drinker 10 138.
  • His reliability as a merchant allows him to maintain secret business with Marine leadership despite being a pirate 138 147.
  • The elixir creates powerful long-term assets, including immortal Marines, pirates, and subordinates 77 147 267.

Demon Form

Dimon’s second Demon Skill transforms him into a winged demon form that scales with his own growth.

  • Greatly enhances his combat power over his human form 17 21.
  • Grants black wings and high-speed aerial mobility 19 37.
  • Allows supersonic flight across the sea 37.
  • His regeneration and mobility make him difficult for King-level opponents to defeat permanently 21.

Parasitic Fruit

Dimon’s third Demon Skill lets him create modified Devil Fruits for use on others.

  • Creates a modified Paw-Paw Fruit and gives it to Kuma, intending to turn him into a future asset 31.
  • Supports Dimon’s broader strategy of empowering people while binding them to his influence 31.
  • Its use reflects his preference for indirect control rather than relying solely on his own strength 31.

Domain Expansion

Dimon’s fourth Demon Skill creates a sealed dark domain and manifests the immortals he has devoured.

  • Summons devoured immortals inside the Domain 69 129.
  • Can possess manifested targets, allowing them to use roughly 70% of his combat power 69.
  • Prevents targets from probing beyond the Domain with Observation Haki 129.
  • Contains a consciousness-management limitation: Dimon struggles to maintain three separate minds at once 97.
  • Can interrupt teleportation with Conqueror’s Haki inside the Domain 327.

Demon Creation

Dimon’s fifth Demon Skill creates lesser demons with freely determined forms.

  • Creates demon Sea Kings to hunt undead throughout the New World 113.
  • Converts people into Little Demons, including Marines used as Buggy’s protection 197.
  • Remolds the four Wano Daimyo into Yaoguai forms and grants them immortality 136.
  • Can preserve a transformed subject’s human appearance or alter it drastically 114 136.
  • Transformations may carry drawbacks involving altered form and aging 114.

Sacred Harvest

Dimon’s seventh Demon Skill reaps targets who have received Demon Power.

  • Harvests marked targets regardless of spatial distance 267.
  • Detects the locations of undead beings across the world 267.
  • Expands his control from individual encounters to a global scale 267.

Haki

Dimon possesses all three forms of Haki and continually develops them through combat, observation, devouring, and self-directed training.

  • Observation Haki

    • Uses Future Prediction in combat 66 125.
    • Foresees up to ten seconds into the future and senses activity within 30 kilometers after devouring Ochoku 97.
    • Develops Haki Flash after surpassing previous Observation Haki limits 130.
  • Armament Haki

    • Nearly awakens it after devouring a Sea King, then learns to condense it on his fist 13.
    • Uses it to withstand powerful Devil Fruit attacks and block weapons 19 106 283.
    • Masters it through training on Mount Fuji 138.
  • Conqueror’s Haki

    • Learns Advanced Conqueror’s Haki by observing stronger combatants 59.
    • Instantly kills Admiral Zephyr with a Conqueror’s Haki attack 91.
    • Can sever supernatural connections, including Junzi’s contract-based contact with Imu 283.
    • His Conqueror’s Haki is compared to Joy Boy’s power from 800 years earlier 283.

Nen Techniques

Dimon treats Haki as energy and adapts Nen concepts into his own combat system.

  • Zetsu — Conceals his Haki until he deliberately releases it 138 147.
  • Ren — Releases a violent Haki aura powerful enough to blow away enemies and destabilize nearby warships 147.
  • Perfect Future — Predicts and counters attacks, including Devil Fruit-based ambushes 147.
  • Nen Beasts — Creates constructs such as Horsebone and Sandworm to intercept enemies and support allies in battle 158.

Age-Age Fruit

After obtaining the Age-Age Fruit from the World Government, Dimon uses its Twisted Future ability to manifest possible future versions of himself.

  • Alters his own body and the bodies of others, including temporary sex transformations 57 110 180.
  • Temporarily borrows the potential powers of other Devil Fruits, including the Door-Door Fruit, Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Float-Float Fruit, and gravity-based meteor attacks 62 65 101 243.
  • Uses Twisted Future to assume specialized forms such as Flash Man and Door-Man 65 298.
  • Uses the Toy-Toy Fruit’s power to become a plush toy demon and erase others’ memories of him while transformed 200 201.

Teleportation and Magic Circles

Dimon uses pentagram magic circles for travel, storage, infiltration, and extraction.

  • Teleports himself between prepared circles 31 49.
  • Uses Reverse Summon to enter Marine Headquarters directly 40.
  • Sends objects through reverse teleportation, including the Age-Age Fruit trade with the World Government 49.
  • Places circles in distant locations for future access, including Impel Down and Elbaf 66 165.
  • Extracts allies from battle, including Kaido and Rocks during Imu’s attack on Ohara 158.

Combat and Swordsmanship

Dimon is a highly adaptable combatant who combines brute force, Haki, Devil Fruit mimicry, and swordsmanship.

  • Defeats Sea Kings with a single punch after strengthening himself through devouring 13.
  • Uses the Prince’s Fighting Style against Zephyr 125.
  • Mimics Quake Punch and Golden Lion’s sea-dragon techniques against Whitebeard 100 101.
  • Uses Nether Hound, a lava-based ability superior to Babel’s Flame-Flame Fruit 106.
  • Can fight elite swordsmen with Enma or Shusui while coating attacks in Conqueror’s Haki 37 96 283.
  • Uses the sword technique God’s Wrath against opponents including Imu 243 292.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Enma — A sword Dimon uses against Sengoku and in later combat 37.
  • Shusui — A famous sword wielded during his confrontation with Shamrock 283.
  • Devil Fruit Encyclopedia — An incomplete reference book recording roughly 300 Devil Fruits; it supports his Devil Fruit identification and trading operations 41 49.
  • Pentagram Magic Circles — Persistent magical marks used for teleportation, reverse summoning, storage, and infiltration 31 49 66.
  • Pluton Battleship — An Ancient Weapon excavated beneath Wano; Dimon seeks the technology and energy source needed to activate it 37 40.

Relationships

  • Kaido — Former Rocks Pirate ally, drinking companion, and frequent collaborator. Dimon initially outranks Kaido in raw physical strength, later leaves him to oversee Wano, and rescues him from Imu’s assault on Ohara 15 31 59 158.
  • Abel — Loyal subordinate whom Dimon encourages to train and repeatedly entrusts with major duties, including enforcing trade-fair rules and managing transformed retainers 16 111 136.
  • Rocks D. Xebec — Former captain whom Dimon later rescues from Imu and turns into a demon subordinate. Rocks treats Dimon as his benefactor and abandons plans to rebuild the Rocks Pirates 4 158.
