Background

Kaido began as an intern associated with the Rocks Pirates. After drinking at Dimon’s Elixir of Immortality Bar, he discovered that his wounds would regenerate and immediately sought a powerful opponent to test himself against. His challenge to Whitebeard ended in a decisive defeat, but his healing stunned the surrounding Rocks Pirates and drew Rocks D. Xebec’s attention. 3 4

He later taught Dimon Haki in exchange for clearing his debt at the bar. Their association developed into a close partnership: after the Rocks Pirates disbanded, Kaido and Dimon traveled to Wano Country, defeated Kozuki Oden’s forces, seized Oden Castle, and established themselves as Wano’s new Shoguns. 6 27 28 32 34

Kaido subsequently built the Beasts Pirates, recruiting through strength, conquest, and the promise of Elixir of Immortality. Appearance

Kaido is a massive human fighter, described in human form as roughly seven meters tall. His primary transformation is a colossal Azure Dragon capable of flight; he can also assume a half-man, half-dragon form in battle. 29 28 260

Although initially dismissive of planning and study, Kaido gradually adopts more strategic methods under Dimon’s influence. He forms the Beasts Pirates, recruits strong subordinates, uses hostages to control conquered kingdoms, and seeks to build an “army of the undying.” 36 94 95
