Ch. 421His New Identity, His Terrifying Power Shook the Ocean!
Plot and key events
- Huang Tian receives a new silver-tier identity: he is secretly the Federation head of Glimmer, a once-idealistic international resistance group now corrupted by infighting and crime. Its founder, Morian, was killed two years earlier; six months ago, Morian’s adopted son Guvalon seized control and ordered Huang Tian to return to headquarters. Huang refused, so Guvalon put him on a kill list.
- The mission is to survive Guvalon’s pursuit. Huang Tian is an early Fourth Stage Star Refiner, while Guvalon is Fifth Stage. Huang judges that completing the mission could greatly increase his strength.
- Huang reviews his Federation network: nearly two thousand people, including the licensed security firm White Elephant Security. He decides not to wait for Guvalon’s agents, but to travel alone to Glimmer’s headquarters on an island in the Luo Lu Empire and strike first.
- Before boarding, Huang uses his mental ability to locate Guvalon. He sees him at headquarters, where Guvalon declares that the strong devour the weak and proclaims himself “World King.”
- On the flight, Huang overhears five Federation travelers discuss the dangers of the Luo Lu Empire. A young man boasts about his uncle’s armed guards, while two engineers urge caution. Two young women are drawn to Huang; one asks for his contact information, but he politely declines.
- At the airport, armed men and helicopters arrive to escort Huang. The passengers realize he is far more powerful and influential than he appeared. Huang is flown to the island, then leaps from the helicopter and confronts Glimmer’s headquarters, calling Guvalon out to die.
Character developments and interactions
- Huang Tian adapts calmly to his new identity and resources. He rejects the passive role of a hunted man and chooses an aggressive, decisive response. His composed behavior contrasts with the spectacular display of power at the chapter’s end.
- Guvalon is revealed as Huang’s ideological and personal opposite: contemptuous of Morian’s vision, he believes domination is the natural order. He anticipates Huang’s return and intends to kill him.
- Morian’s legacy shapes the conflict. He founded Glimmer to build a compassionate world, but his death left the organization vulnerable to corruption and factional struggle.
- The travelers provide a contrast to Huang’s hidden status. Their ordinary worries and assumptions give way to awe when they see his armed escort. The young man’s boasting also falters as he recognizes the gulf between himself and Huang.
Significant themes
- Idealism versus cynicism: Morian’s hope for mutual care has been replaced by Guvalon’s belief in survival through strength.
- Power and legitimacy: Guvalon controls Glimmer through force, while Huang’s refusal to surrender his Federation network reflects opposition to the organization’s corruption.
- Identity and hidden strength: Huang appears like an ordinary passenger but commands armed forces and displays extraordinary power.
- Proactive resistance: Rather than merely survive the pursuit, Huang intends to confront its source directly.
