Background / History

Yu Xiaogang was born to Yu Yuanzhen, Sect Master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. His mutated martial soul, Luo Sanpao, was initially viewed as a failed mutation, and his cultivation remained trapped at level 29. Rather than accept this limitation, he devoted himself to researching mutated martial souls and ancient theory texts. 21 76

Qian Xunji arranged for Xiaogang to study in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, telling him that his research into martial soul mutation was his unique value. The encouragement restored Xiaogang’s confidence and led him to regard Qian Xunji as both mentor and foster father. 25 26 27

While studying in the sect’s Library Pavilion, Xiaogang met Bibi Dong. Their shared interest in martial soul theory became mutual attraction, but the relationship brought retaliation from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect; Xiaogang was severely injured and had his legs broken. 75
