Background / History

Yu Yuanzhen first arrives in Martial Soul City to compete for the twin-spider martial soul genius offered through Qian Xunji’s public tender. Confident that his clan is uniquely qualified to cultivate a top-tier beast martial soul, he hopes to secure a successor capable of guaranteeing the clan’s prosperity after Yu Xiaogang’s failed mutation 10. After losing the bid to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, he learns from Qian Xunji that Xiaogang’s martial soul can still be developed and that the other sect’s wealth and research may provide a path forward 14.

Yu Yuanzhen initially supports his son Yu Xiaogang after learning that Luo Sanpao is a beneficial mutation rather than a useless martial soul. He opens the clan’s Library Pavilion to Xiaogang without restriction, allowing him to pursue research into martial soul mutations and theory 21.

After Xiaogang is crippled following his attempted assassination of Ning Fengzhi, Yu Yuanzhen abandons his pride completely. He kneels outside the Pope Hall for more than a month to beg Qian Xunji for help 118. Eventually, he offers the entire Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan’s submission to Martial Soul Hall in exchange for Xiaogang’s recovery and vengeance against the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. His defining trait is his devotion to Yu Xiaogang. His guilt over neglecting his son drives him to hunt soul beasts for rare soul bones, seek resources at personal risk, kneel before Qian Xunji, submit his clan to Martial Soul Hall, and endure watching Xiaogang fight a brutal arena battle 99 101 118 132 135. For the Bone Dragon hunt, he delegates clan affairs to a trusted elder under the pretext of entering seclusion, then travels into Star Dou Great Forest himself. He returns despite injuries and exhaustion, placing his son’s opportunity above his own recovery 100 101.

After Xiaogang leaves the clan to gain experience, Yu Yuanzhen arranges secret protection for him. The clan also continues to support Shrek Academy after its renaming from Blue Tyrant Academy, providing an institutional connection and potential fallback for Xiaogang 200 241.

Upper Three Sects Ranking Battle

Yu Yuanzhen represents the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan as a level 95 Super Douluo. Submission to Martial Soul Hall

Following Xiaogang’s crippling, Yu Yuanzhen humbles himself before Qian Xunji and ultimately submits the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan to Martial Soul Hall. The clan becomes part of Martial Soul Hall’s territory, while Yu Yuanzhen becomes an elder 118 132.

He promises to resolve internal opposition within ten years, allowing Qian Xunji to decide whether the clan should openly merge into Martial Soul Hall or remain outwardly independent as its hidden operative. His only political condition is that the clan be treated as a true part of the organization rather than a disposable weapon 132.

Yu Yuanzhen helps prepare Xiaogang for the arena trial intended to restore his fighting spirit, accepting the need for the ordeal despite concern for his son’s safety. He then witnesses the fusion of the Primary Soul-Guided Arm and Xiaogang’s recovery, strengthening his conviction in the alliance 133 134 137.

Yu Yuanzhen subsequently consolidates the clan’s internal factions through force and confinement of dissenting elders. He formally reports that the entire clan is united beneath Martial Soul Hall and prepared to follow Qian Xunji’s orders 250.

Light Dragon Evolution and Soul Bone Conflict

Qian Xunji gives Yu Yuanzhen the Holy Radiance Fruit, evolving his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon into a light-attribute form 147. Yu Yuanzhen then intervenes in the clash among Tang Hao, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and the Hundred-Thousand-Year Man-Faced Demon Spider Emperor, later taking the recovered soul bone to Qian Xunji rather than claiming it independently 151 158 161.

Before the expedition, Yu Yuanzhen and Xiaogang agree to report Xiao Wu’s suspected identity to Martial Soul Hall rather than attempt an immediate capture. After learning that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect has also mobilized, Yu Yuanzhen relays the intelligence to Qian Xunji through the clan’s information network 249 250 266.

At Qian Xunji’s order, he returns to the forest with Xiaogang and the clan’s forces. He also requests Flender and Liu Erlong’s participation so that the Golden Iron Triangle’s fusion skill can counter Dugu Bo if necessary 267.
