Background / History

Ning Rongrong was the historical sect master associated with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. She elevated the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda into the Nine Treasure Glazed Pagoda, became the Nine-Colored Goddess, and ascended to the God Realm with Oscar. Her descendants later preserved enormous statues of Ning Rongrong and Oscar outside the Nine-Colored Divine Hall, despite her resentment toward them. 12

Although she ascended alongside Oscar, Ning Rongrong remained emotionally attached to Tang San and repeatedly sought him out in the God Realm. Her relationship with Oscar consequently produced no heir over ten thousand years. 8 9

While refining Hundred Flower Brew and meditating, Ning Rongrong inexplicably awoke in the body of her descendant, the ten-year-old young sect master Ning Tian. Believing herself reborn, she tried to order the destruction of the statues but was reprimanded by Ning Tian's father and confined when the sect ignored her command. 12

She sought to evolve her martial soul into the Nine Treasure Glazed Pagoda using the Aromatic Silk Beauty from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. The sect's attempts to retrieve it failed against the poisonous formation, leaving Ning Rongrong unable to pursue that route. She instead enrolled at Shrek Academy to locate Tang San's anticipated Child of Destiny and use that person's future ascension as a route back to the God Realm. 12

At Shrek, Ning Rongrong initially identified Gu Yuan as the Child of Destiny after witnessing his Ice Dragon King martial soul and overwhelming Soul Power. Her pursuit of survival and return to the God Realm gradually outweighs her former loyalty to Tang San. She fears that he may eliminate her because she knows his secrets, and she resolves to support Gu Yuan as someone who may surpass him. 43
