Background / History

After Tang San loses his divine position and becomes Tang Ya, Beibei tends to him when he faints, performing artificial respiration. His concern for Tang Ya continues to define his actions afterward. 9

Beibei joins the Tang Sect to pursue Tang Ya and is willing to prioritize staying with her over restoring the sect’s former prominence. After a period of training away from Shrek, he returns with Tang Ya and her newly accepted disciple, Huo Yuhao, to register Huo Yuhao at the academy. 35

He and Tang Ya become members of Shrek Academy’s Outer Court Elite Class and serve as opponents in the class’s entrance assessment. 44

When Tang Ya’s martial soul mutates into Dark Blue Silver Grass, Beibei appeals directly to his great-grandfather, Mu En, for a limb spirit bone of at least seventy thousand years with a light attribute. He later guards Tang Ya during her recovery from the resulting Holy Light backlash. 56 57 58

Personality

Beibei is deeply devoted to Tang Ya. He readily provides aid, seeks resources for her cultivation problems, and becomes protective whenever he believes she is endangered. 9 56 57

His attachment also leaves him highly susceptible to Tang Ya’s manipulation. He continues trusting and pursuing her despite abrupt hostility and conflicting behavior, including an attempt on his life. 54 59 87

He is skeptical of Tang Ya’s conservative attitude toward Soul Tools, though he ultimately accepts it because remaining with her matters more to him than the Tang Sect’s future. 35

Dark Blue Silver Grass Crisis

After Tang Ya develops a dark martial-soul mutation, Beibei requests a seventy-thousand-year-or-higher light-attribute limb spirit bone from Mu En. The attempt to use the bone causes a dangerous Holy Light backlash, and Beibei remains at Tang Ya’s side throughout her recovery. 56 57 58

Star Dou Forest Incident

During the Star Dou Forest expedition, Tang Ya lures Beibei away from the group. Their subsequent intimacy intensifies Beibei’s attachment, while Tang Ya warns him to keep their encounter secret. 87 88

Pregnancy Conflict

Tang Ya later becomes pregnant. Beibei is initially overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a father, but Tang Ya attempts to prepare an abortifacient. Beibei confronts her after recognizing saffron and musk among the ingredients, though he realizes he cannot force her to change her decision. 139 140
