Personality

Du Busi treats membership in the Body Sect as entry into a family. His protection is immediate rather than conditional: after learning about Dai Tu’s enemies, he accepts the youth’s vengeance as the sect’s own and offers to confront the White Tiger Duke Mansion himself. When Dai Tu insists on taking revenge personally, Du Busi instead commits to making him strong enough to do so 12 14 15.

His generosity extends to cultivation resources and personal opportunities. He gives Dai Tu rare medicines without demanding immediate repayment, supervises their use, and generally allows him to explore cultivation independently. At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, he acknowledges Dai Tu’s ownership of the discovery rather than claiming its treasures for himself or the sect 15 80.

Accepting Dai Tu

Wang Changbi introduces Dai Tu after his ten consecutive victories at the Death Arena. Du Busi tests the youth’s ocular abilities, first dismissing the possibility of injury and then becoming excited when Kamui: Distortion cracks his armor and Amaterasu wounds him. He identifies Dai Tu’s eyes as a Gold-grade awakening and becomes still more invested after seeing the Tree of Life 12 13 14.

After hearing about the massacre of Konoha, Du Busi offers direct retaliation against the White Tiger Duke Mansion. Dai Tu chooses to pursue revenge himself, formally accepts him as his teacher, and begins cultivating with the sect’s resources 14 15.

Star Dou Great Forest and Sect Reform

Du Busi escorts Dai Tu and Long Aotian to obtain soul rings. During the expedition, he intervenes against Xuan Zi to protect Scarlet King and the dying Three-Eyed Golden Ni while Dai Tu attempts to heal it. The incident opens a path toward improved relations with Di Tian 22 24 30 33.

On the return journey, he reveals the Body Sect’s internal problems. Dai Tu proposes combining Body Martial Souls with Soul Tools, and Du Busi approves the change, beginning preparations to recruit expertise and eventually bring Huo Yuhao into the sect 36 37 38 39.

Recruiting Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong

Du Busi accompanies Dai Tu to Shrek City and intervenes when Xuan Zi attacks him. He defeats Xuan Zi in their ensuing battle, then negotiates with Mu En over the two students’ departure. After Dai Tu defeats Beibei and Xu Sanshi, Shrek permits the group to leave 45 60 61 62 63 69.

Back at the Body Sect, he grants Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong core-disciple status, priority resources, and personal welcome gifts. He subsequently backs Huo Yuhao’s decision to concentrate on Soul Tool research 69 75.

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Dai Tu presents a treasure map, prompting Du Busi to accompany him to the Sunset Forest. Du Busi clears the poisonous approach, recognizes Dai Tu’s claim to the discoveries, and receives the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum recommended for him 72 75 79 80.

When Dai Tu decides to seek the Evil Eye Tyrant independently, Du Busi initially argues for safety but ultimately accepts his decision. He returns to the sect with immortal herbs, leaving his disciple with a warning to prioritize survival 83 84.

Defending the Body Sect

Now a Limit Douluo, Du Busi rejects the Clear Sky Sect’s demands for Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao. He agrees to let them leave if they personally choose to, but fights when Tang San’s group attempts to take them despite their refusal 107 109 110.

He initially withstands Titan and Niu Tian together before their combined assault injures him. Dai Tu creates an opening for his counterattack, and Du Busi later tears off Titan’s arm. When the opposing group retreats, he follows Dai Tu’s advice not to pursue and returns to care for the sect 111 112 113 117.

Succession and Soul Spirit Cooperation

Following the battle, Du Busi entrusts Dai Tu with the Secret of the Body and recognizes him as his successor. After Bi Ji heals his remaining injuries, he endorses Dai Tu’s agreement with the Star Dou Great Forest and publicly appoints him Vice Sect Master 118 119 131.

He also discusses Dai Tu’s proposal for the Body Sect to return to the Elite Continental Soul Master Tournament with only Dai Tu and Long Aotian, using the event to draw attention to Soul Spirit contracts 132.
