Background / History

Dai Tu was originally a village boy whose life was defined by loss. After avenging Arin and the villagers, he killed Zhu Ye amid a mountain of corpses. His grief and hatred drove his Mangekyo Sharingan toward collapse until Electrolux stabilized it and helped establish a balance with the newly evolved Tree of Life Martial Soul 2.

The Goddess of Life and God of Destruction recognized the intertwined forces within him and chose him as their dual successor. Dai Tu initially refused their offer because he sought a way to resurrect the dead, but accepted after learning that mastery of Life and Destruction could touch the boundary of life and death. He received the Marks of Life and Destruction and was assigned nine God Trials 4 5.

Seeking protection from the White Tiger Duke Mansion, he identified his eye-based Kaleidoscope as a Body Martial Soul and traveled to find the Body Sect. Wang Changbi brought him into the sect, where Du Busi accepted him as family and became his teacher 6 11 12.

During an expedition in the Star Dou Great Forest, Dai Tu healed the wounded Three-Eyed Golden Ni and earned Di Tian's recognition. The Auspicious Beast later shared its Eye of Destiny with him, binding their fates and giving him an obligation to protect it 30 33 35 36.

After tempering his body in the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Dai Tu pursued the seven-hundred-thousand-year Evil Eye Tyrant. He negotiated a symbiotic sacrifice, but the Evil Emperor attempted to possess him. Electrolux suppressed the possession attempt, leaving the Evil Emperor under control in Dai Tu's Spirit Sea and enabling the evolution of his Kaleidoscope into the Six Paths Sage Eye 82 94 96 98 100.

Later, Dai Tu proposed the Soul Spirit method to the Beast Kings, successfully created a soul spirit with the Golden Hawksbill Turtle, and formed an offensive and defensive alliance between the Body Sect and Star Dou Great Forest 125 129 130.

Appearance

Dai Tu is a youthful, black-haired boy whose eyes undergo striking transformations when he uses his martial souls.

  • His Kaleidoscope Sharingan manifests as scarlet eyes with a rotating shuriken pattern 6 12.
  • The Eye of Destiny appears as a closed pale-gold vertical third eye between his brows, containing a star-like point of light 35.
  • His Tree of Life initially manifested as a frail palm-high sapling with three leaves before evolving into a larger emerald tree phantom with golden veins in its leaves 2 35.
  • The Marks of Life and Destruction appear at his brow as emerald and deep-purple divine symbols 95.

Personality

Dai Tu is calm, guarded, and intensely self-controlled. The massacre of his village left him with a deep hatred for the White Tiger Duke Mansion, but Electrolux's intervention prevented that hatred from consuming him entirely 2.

He is strategic and willing to take extreme risks when they serve his long-term goals, including challenging high-level soul rings, enduring ice-and-fire tempering, and negotiating with the Evil Eye Tyrant. He nevertheless plans carefully, relying on contingencies rather than reckless confidence 22 83 94.

Though often cold toward enemies, he is protective of those he accepts as his own. He seeks healing abilities to aid Body Sect disciples, risks himself to save the Three-Eyed Golden Ni, and pursues the Soul Spirit method as a means of changing relations between soul masters and soul beasts 21 30 125 130.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Dai Tu possesses the Kaleidoscope Sharingan and the Tree of Life, whose opposing Destruction and Life attributes must be cultivated in balance 21.

  • Kaleidoscope Sharingan — an eye-type Body Martial Soul associated with space, destruction, mental power, and ocular techniques.
  • Tree of Life — a life-aligned Martial Soul with healing, control, and life-force properties.
  • His body and soul rings benefit from the synergy of Life healing and Destruction suppression during dangerous absorptions 9.

Kamui

A spatial ability evolved from the original Dynamic Vision Enhancement skill 6.

  • Kamui: Intangibility — isolates his body from physical contact, allowing him to pass through matter.
    • High consumption and short duration limit sustained use 6.
    • Can be countered when space is sealed or when an opponent understands its mechanism 141.
  • Kamui: Distortion — twists a targeted area of space to crush or erase matter.
    • Cracked the soul power armor of rank 98 Super Douluo Du Busi while Dai Tu was level 25 12 13.
    • Shattered Xu Sanshi's defense and injured Tang San 68 86.

Amaterasu

Dai Tu's second Kaleidoscope soul skill, gained from the Nether Flame Cat's thousand-year soul ring 9.

  • Produces black flames that adhere to targets and attempt to erase them.
  • Burns flesh, soul power, and even the soul itself 13 86.
  • The flames injured Du Busi despite his rank 98 cultivation; Du Busi extinguished them only by tearing away the afflicted flesh 13.
  • Under the Six Paths Sage Eye, the flames gain stronger annihilating and purifying properties 101.

Kotoamatsukami

Dai Tu's third Kaleidoscope soul skill, gained from the Three-Tailed Illusion Fox 34.

  • Tampers with memories, implants will, and distorts cognition.
  • Can potentially change an enemy's loyalties or reshape their identity if Dai Tu's soul power and mental strength are sufficient.
  • Limited to two uses per year.
  • Its effects weaken against targets with far stronger mental power and may cause backlash 34.

Tree of Life Soul Skills

  • Wood Strip Barrage — evolved from a basic branch-based attack after the sapling Martial Soul became the Tree of Life 6.
  • Life Eulogy — a group healing skill with a three-hundred-meter range that also increases allies' soul power recovery by roughly 30% 26.
  • Deep Forest Emergence — his third Tree of Life skill; used to immobilize and suppress opponents such as Dai Yueheng 34 50.
  • Flower Tree World — a divine Tree of Life skill gained after absorbing an Emerald Spirit Deer ring 35.

Eye of Destiny

An innate ability shared with him by the Three-Eyed Golden Ni 35.

  • Allows him to see through fate, communicate with fortune, foresee danger to a degree, and potentially influence future outcomes 36.
  • Strengthens his perception and spiritual power as it fuses with him 43.
  • Binds his fate to that of the Three-Eyed Golden Ni 36.

Six Paths Sage Eye

The evolved form of Dai Tu's left-eye Kaleidoscope after he absorbs the Evil Emperor's spiritual origin 100 101.

  • Grants absolute insight into physical, energy, and soul-level phenomena.
  • Enhances Kamui, Amaterasu, the Tree of Life, and the Destruction Domain 101.
  • Raises his spiritual power to Super Douluo level, possibly approaching Limit Douluo level 101.
  • Can be activated and deactivated at will.
  • Consumes soul power at roughly five times the rate of the Kaleidoscope and continuously drains mental energy 101.

Destruction Domain

A destructive domain formed from Dai Tu's Destruction inheritance.

  • Countered Tang San's Slaughter God's Domain 86.
  • Becomes more solid and expands gradually when the Six Paths Sage Eye is active 101.

Susanoo

A manifested combat technique wielded through his ocular power.

  • Dai Tu used its skeletal form alongside Kamui to hold off and injure Niu Tian for three minutes 116.
  • Its initial form collapses when his soul power is exhausted 116.
  • It can evolve into stronger forms and unlock weapons as Dai Tu grows 118.

Light of Time and Space

A skill from the Evil Eye Tyrant's seven-hundred-thousand-year head soul bone 112.

  • A mental attack capable of freezing and slowing targets.
  • Immobilized Er Ming mid-attack, enabling Du Busi to land a decisive blow 113.
  • Can distract powerful opponents and create opportunities to escape 141.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Marks of Life and Destruction — divine inheritance marks bestowed by the Goddess of Life and God of Destruction 5 95.

  • Soul Spirit contract with the Golden Hawksbill Turtle — grants him a hundred-thousand-year fifth soul ring and a companion soul spirit 128 129.
