Background / History

Wang Dong was introduced as Huo Yuhao's Shrek Academy roommate. The two developed an immediate, inexplicable closeness, accompanied by an accidental resonance between Huo Yuhao's Spirit Eye and Wang Dong's Radiant Goddess Butterfly martial soul. Their attempted Martial Soul Fusion failed under outside interference, though Huo Yuhao's martial soul absorbed some of Wang Dong's power. 39 40

Unknown to Wang Dong, he was Xiao Qi, a fragment of Tang Wutong's divided divine soul. Tang San had separated his daughter's soul into three parts: one remained in the God Realm, one became Wang Dong, and another merged with the Three-Eyed Golden Ni. He implanted directives into Wang Dong's soul intended to make him approach and bind Huo Yuhao for the Tang Family's interests. 42 43 56 57

When Huo Yuhao decided to leave Shrek for the Body Sect, Wang Dong initially tried to stop him. Dai Tu then revealed Wang Dong's origin and used Kotoamatsukami: Illusionary World to show him the predetermined future in which his fractured soul would be reassembled into Tang Wutong and bound to Huo Yuhao.
