Background / History
Tang San was once the savior of the Douluo Continent, leader of the Shrek Seven Devils, and founder of the Tang Sect. He later ascended to the God Realm, where he became its ruler and held both the Sea God and Asura God positions 40.
From the God Realm, Tang San treated the Douluo Continent as a personal “chessboard.” He selected Huo Yuhao as a key piece in his plans and used Xiao Qi/Wang Dong as the “lock” meant to bind Huo Yuhao to the Tang family 41. When Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong’s martial soul fusion failed, Tang San found that Huo Yuhao’s future had become obscured by a haze that even his Asura divine power could not penetrate 40.
He attempted to reinforce the connection between Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong by activating a divine soul crystal, influencing Wang Dong’s soul and future destiny from the God Realm 42 43. The God of Destruction openly confronted him over this interference in the lower realm, while the Goddess of Life prevented the dispute from escalating into open conflict 41 42.
After Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong left Shrek Academy for the Body Sect, Tang San concluded that his arrangements had been disrupted by an unknown force connected to life and destruction. To reclaim control over them, he and Xiao Wu severed halves of their divine souls and formed lower-realm avatars through the Clear Sky Sect’s ancient altar 70 77.
Appearance
Tang San’s true form appears as a handsome young man in a simple white robe, with black hair, black eyes, and a gentle smile that conceals his agitation and killing intent 40. His lower-realm avatar takes the form of a composed blue-haired youth in plain blue martial clothing 84.
- True form — Black hair, black eyes, white robe, and an approachable “older brother” demeanor 40.
- Avatar form — Short blue hair, deep blue eyes, and an exceptionally handsome, youthful appearance 84.
- Bearing — Retains the innate nobility and aloofness associated with his status as a God King even after his power is reduced 84.
- Martial soul manifestations — Blue-gold Blue Silver Emperor vines and a heavy black Clear Sky Hammer 77 134.
Personality
Tang San presents himself as calm, gentle, and composed, particularly when acting under the alias Lan San at Shrek Academy 102 103. He is highly calculating, habitually treating people’s futures as variables to be arranged, controlled, and returned to their intended paths 41 43.
His need for control becomes especially apparent regarding Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Xiao Wu. He regards Huo Yuhao as a carefully selected “chess piece,” seeks to secure Wang Dong’s bond with him, and reacts with fury whenever their actions fall outside his plans 41 70. He is also intensely possessive and protective of Xiao Wu; he attacked Dai Tu with Dragon Whisker Needles merely because Dai Tu looked at her 85.
Repeated setbacks make Tang San increasingly paranoid, jealous, and vengeful. After his defeats at the Body Sect, he blames Dai Tu for Wang Dong and Xiao Wu’s resistance and vows violent retaliation against Dai Tu, Du Busi, and the Body Sect 104 119 122.

Sunset Forest Conflict
Tang San encounters Dai Tu while traveling toward the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. His unprovoked Dragon Whisker Needle attack leads to a battle in which Dai Tu counters his Twin Martial Souls, Slaughter God’s Domain, and Tang Sect techniques 85 87. Shrek Academy Tournament Team
