Obito was believed dead after the Third Great Ninja War, remembered as an Uchiha “dead-last” and sacrificial hero. He survived into adulthood, concealed himself behind an orange mask, and assumed the identity of Madara Uchiha. His former teacher was Minato Namikaze, whom Obito still calls “teacher.” 30 35 52

His childhood attachment to Rin Nohara became the foundation of his actions and emotional instability. Obito believed Rin loved Kakashi, but clung to the belief that she must have loved him instead; he later described building a new world for Rin’s rebirth. 38 39
