Ao Ling gave a wry smile. Naruto was great in every other way, but he was far too blunt, which could easily offend people. Ao Ling said helplessly, "All right, the dean asked us to do this, so we should at least show him some respect. Besides, don't you want a heavenly flame? This is just something we can do along the way. Don't fuss over it so much."
The mention of a heavenly flame improved Naruto's mood a little. "Right, do you know which heavenly flame it is? If it isn't one of the Ten Great Heavenly Flames, I'm not interested."
Ao Ling laughed. "You really are... never mind. It's the life flame, one of the Ten Great Heavenly Flames. But although it's in the Elven Forest, even the elves have never seen it. If you want it, you'll have to see whether you can find it."
Naruto smiled confidently. "Don't worry. My luck has always been good. As long as the life flame is in the Elven Forest, I'll definitely find it."
Ao Ling did not dampen Naruto's enthusiasm. He was curious about Naruto's inexplicable confidence and wanted to see whether his luck truly was as incredible as he claimed. After all, the life flame's presence in the Elven Forest was no secret. Yet over tens of millions of years, the people who had actually seen it could be counted on one hand, and every appearance had been so fleeting that capturing it was impossible.
But Ao Ling would not tell Naruto any of that. Getting Naruto to agree to come along had been difficult enough; it would be trouble if he changed his mind now.
Then Sasuke asked, "Is the Life Gem in the Elven Forest?"
Ao Ling frowned. "What do you want the Life Gem for?"
