As Tsunade surveyed her surroundings, a rough voice rang out. "Hokage?"
Tsunade followed the voice deeper inside. "Raikage? What are you doing?"
The Raikage stepped out from behind a bookshelf, his tone unfriendly. "That's what I should be asking you. What the hell is Konoha up to? And what exactly is written in these books?"
"Believe it or not, this has nothing to do with Konoha. If you want to get out, I suggest we cooperate. How long have you been here? Have you seen any other Kage?"
Without touching the books on the shelves, Tsunade looked at the books scattered across the floor and lightly poked at them with a kunai.
But once she clearly saw the writing on them, her brows gradually furrowed. What language was this? If the characters did not follow certain patterns, she would have suspected they were random scribbles. Only a few scattered characters were familiar to her; she had never seen the rest before.
Fortunately, the characters shared some common features. The layout was highly regular. The beginning seemed to contain titles and dates, followed by a lengthy passage of exposition. Unfortunately, she had no idea what any of it meant.
Raikage said, "I don't know. I only arrived a little before you did."
"So you already tried smashing your way through this place with brute force, but failed?" Unable to find any other clues among the fallen books for the moment, Tsunade began examining the other books.
The Raikage froze. "How did you know?"
"Guess."
