The fat Rogue quickly breathed his last, and Taelan Fordring had Janice help Jaina step aside to rest. He then walked toward the Gnoll's pile of trash and began to rummage through it.

There was quite a lot of stuff here. There was food, clothing, and even purses snatched from passing humans, along with several battered weapons. At the very bottom, Taelan finally unearthed a magic mail canister, which he quickly tucked into his inventory.

As he passed Gogri's corpse, he casually swiped the dropped Crescent Staff and stowed it away before running over to tend to Jaina.

The young girl was terrified. She had never witnessed such bloody betrayal and slaughter. That fat Rogue had killed his own companion without a moment's hesitation, all for fear that he might leak their secrets.

Taelan Fordring used a Holy Bolt to treat Jaina's wounds. Then, to cheer her up, he said, "Jaina! This time, it was all thanks to you. If not for you, we never would have caught this guy. I'll leave the looting of the treasures to you as well."

As he spoke, he pressed the Crescent Staff he had just retrieved into her hands: "Don't be sad, look at this. Do you like it?"

It was no exaggeration to say that this staff was the best weapon for a mage under level 20. Even if the great families had some collections, they were all high-level items. Boutique gear suitable for low levels was hard to come by. In the game, everyone could have one, but in the real world, there was only ever one, standard-issue equipment notwithstanding.

The moment Jaina heard Taelan Fordring call her Jaina, she brightened up immediately. She wiped away her tears, gripped the Crescent Staff, and felt its power silently. Her eyes curved into crescents. This was truly a good item! It provided a comprehensive boost to her attribute values.

She looked at Taelan Fordring and asked first, "Are you alright?"

Taelan Fordring had leveled up just now, and his health had recovered. However, his gear was tattered and stained with blood, making him look absolutely wretched.

Taelan Fordring said, "I'm fine. I still need to borrow your lucky hands to loot the spoils!"

Jaina loved looting bags the most. It had to be said, she truly had a stout heart. Under Jandice's envious gaze, she slung the Crescent Staff over her back and walked over to rummage through Gogri's storage bag first. She pulled out a hat:

Jandice put the hat on her head, and Taelan Fordring finally understood why it increased the light radius—the thing was essentially a Dwarven Miner Helmet. It came with its own headlamp! And to think it was actually cloth armor. What a twisted tailor's masterpiece this was!

Taelan Fordring took the pouch and examined it. The Gnoll was ugly and wretched, but his taste was truly not bad! This sky-blue bag matched the small red pouch hanging at Jaina's waist perfectly.

Taelan Fordring said, "This comes at just the right time! You're about to start practicing spells. The reagents you collect can be kept right here."

This item could be considered a mage's essential. How did a Gnoll living in the wild end up with such good items as a Crescent Staff and a reagent bag? Taelan guessed that he had scavenged the remains of a Cenarion Circle messenger or someone similar to obtain these things.

Taelan Fordring had originally thought that Gogri's stash was already very rich, so he said, "Jaina, go ahead and loot the fat Rogue's pocket."

As it turned out, Jaina pulled a blue magic notebook from the Gnoll's pocket. On it was a line of neat, ancient Thalassian:

Taelan Fordring took the notebook and looked at it with Jaina. It was the diary and lecture notes of a Kaldorei Druid apprentice! It recorded the story of a Night Elf from ten thousand years ago learning the way of the Druid from the demigod Cenarius, and it also contained some spells of the Druids and ancient Night Elf mages. Reading further, he realized this person was named Thalass Feathermoon. He had participated in the battle against the Burning Legion. The diary recorded a great battle between the demigod Malorne and Archimonde.

It also recorded a secret, a legend he had heard from the Shu'halo about the Earth Mother sacrificing herself to crush the Void. Her eyes became two deities who continued to protect the world in her stead; her right eye became the Sun God Anser, and her left eye became the Moon Goddess Elune. Later, to fight the Old Gods summoned by the primordial gods, Anser sacrificed himself! Only then did they hold out until the Children of the Stars descended upon Azeroth, and the Titan constructs buried some of Anser's remains beneath the Sanctuary of Light in the Eastern Weald.

When Taelan Fordring had read the chronicles before, he knew of the six primal forces of the universe: the Order Force, represented by the Titans; the Chaos Force, represented by demons who used Fel; the Life Force, which should be represented by Eonar; the Death Force, represented by the Jailer; and the Light Force, represented by the famous Naaru. The most mysterious force was the Void Force, represented by the never-before-seen Void Lords!

Later, he had heard knowledge about the six primal forces from his mentor, Krasus. They had similarities, yet they were different!

From the diary of Gogri's grandfather later on, it could be known that his father had once been a slave foreman for a Night Elf mage. He must have learned Thalassian at that time. Later, the War of the Ancients occurred, and his ancestor found the notes of this Druid named Thalass Feathermoon. Then came The Sundering, and the great explosion split the continent into several pieces. This Gnoll lived in the mountains near Caer Darrow with the notebook. His descendants learned spells from this Druid's notes! The Thalassian language must have been passed down through the generations as well!

The legend recorded in the notebook was very interesting. The Children of the Stars were certainly not Night Elves; they must refer to the Titans. And the Shu'halo were the Tauren! There was indeed a branch among them that called themselves Sunwalkers. In Hearthstone, there was also a card, the 6-cost 4/5 Divine Shield Taunt Sunwalker! From this, it could be seen that this Anser must have mastered the power of the Holy Light and fire.

The Sanctuary of Light mentioned here is most likely Light's Hope Chapel! That place possesses a strange power. The Lich King's army was repelled there by the spirits of heroes. Yet, the chronicles do not contain a detailed record of this event!
