Background / History

Minato first encounters the six-year-old Ye Wuji in the aftermath of a massacre during the Second Shinobi World War. At twelve years old, Minato is already Jiraiya's student and has been sent to deliver a message to the Sannin. He later ensures that Ye Wuji's parents receive separate graves rather than being buried in a mass grave. 1

After Ye Wuji awakens, Minato brings him to his parents' graves and quietly gives him space to mourn. Concerned that the orphan could die in the war, Minato considers arranging an adoptive family for him. 2 3
