Sure enough, on a distant planet—within the God of Destruction Realm—a cat-like being wearing tattered pajamas and golden collars stirred awake. He was the strongest combatant in the universe: Beerus the God of Destruction.
Just then, Whis walked with elegant strides from the distance toward the foot of the God of Destruction's bed, surrounded by various clock-like objects.
These items were alarm clocks that Whis had specifically prepared for Lord Beerus.
"Oh my, Lord Beerus is waking up soon. If you don't wake up, I shall have to start singing. It is time to end your slumber, you know!"
Seeing that Beerus had no intention of acknowledging him, Whis picked up a microphone and said, "Then I shall begin singing! Lord Beerus!"
Upon hearing this, Beerus's ears perked up, and he lazily replied, "I know, I know. I'm getting up right now."
Beerus stood up with his eyes closed, walking along non-existent stairs with a limping, rolling, and hopping gait until he reached Whis.
"Whis, how long have I slept this time?" Beerus asked.
"Oh my, Lord Beerus, your memory is truly poor. You have already been asleep for 39 years," Whis said with a smile.
"Only 39 years? I wanted to sleep a little longer!" Beerus licked his hand with his tongue, revealing a feline expression.
Whis asked, "Lord Beerus, was the sleep satisfactory this time?"
At the mention of this, an image surfaced in Beerus's mind—he had dreamt of a formidable rival, the Super Saiyan God.
Beerus immediately asked Whis, "Is there anyone in our universe called the Super Saiyan God?"
Whis was slightly surprised, as he knew it was Beerus who had ordered Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta.
However, Whis did not show it. He replied, "Planet Vegeta was already destroyed by Frieza's hand; there are only about six Saiyans left in the universe now."
"But I have never heard of anyone called the Super Saiyan God. Lord Beerus, your dreams have never seemed accurate before. Are you sure about this one?"
At this moment, Beerus opened his large, cat-like eyes and stared at Whis. "Are you questioning the veracity of my words, Whis?"
Seeing Lord Beerus looking at him with displeasure, Whis burst into laughter. "Lord Beerus must be famished after sleeping for so long, right? I have prepared breakfast for you," Whis said with a smile.
Suddenly, Beerus's stomach let out a loud growl. "Fine, let's go get something to eat first!" Beerus said as he stretched.
The scene shifted to Beerus enjoying a gourmet meal while Whis stood respectfully to the side. As Beerus ate, the image of the Super Saiyan God surfaced in his mind once again.
Beerus asked with slight irritation, "Whis, is there really no one in the universe called the Super Saiyan God?"
This time, Whis picked up his staff, performed a search, and gave Beerus a definitive answer: "Lord Beerus, there is indeed no such person in the universe. I have checked many times."
"However, although there is no Super Saiyan God, there are perhaps two individuals who might pique your interest, Lord Beerus."
"Oh?" Beerus became intrigued.
"Which two? Project them; let me see," Beerus said, picking his teeth in a slovenly manner.
Whis projected the footage of the battle between Vegito and Ye Ming from three years ago for Beerus to see.
Beerus watched carefully. "I didn't expect there to be such powerful warriors in the universe, but it is a pity they are not gods."
"The strength of these two is not bad, especially that little fellow named Ye Ming. I feel he has quite a lot of potential."
Even with such strength, it was only enough to make Beerus lift a hand slightly.
Yet, Beerus still wanted to find the Super Saiyan God, for that was the formidable rival he had encountered in his dream.
The more Beerus thought about it, the more annoyed he became. He suddenly stood up: "Whis, where are those Saiyans?"
"They are currently on a planet called Earth. If we head over, it will take about 24 minutes."
Beerus stood with his hands behind his back, suddenly slumped his shoulders, and sighed, "That really is a long time. That's as long as an episode of an anime."
Beerus looked at Whis with sharp eyes and said, "Let's go. Head to Earth to meet those Saiyans. I refuse to believe they don't know anything about the Super Saiyan God."
Hearing this, Whis was also slightly surprised. He actually wanted to visit Earth himself, but his duties usually prevented him from going alone. (Though, in the anime, Whis goes quite often.)
Just like that, a brilliant flash of light streaked by as Whis and Beerus set off on their way to Earth.
Whis utilized the spatial teleportation function of his staff to bring Beerus toward Earth.
During this journey, Beerus the God of Destruction also destroyed dozens of planets, his duties as a destroyer clearly on display.
The scene shifted.
Old Kai suddenly sensed something, beads of sweat forming on his face as he whispered, "Good heavens, he has actually awakened. I wonder how many planets will be destroyed by his hand this time."
After all, destroying planets was the duty of a God of Destruction, while the duty of a Supreme Kai was to create; the two were complementary yet mutually opposed.
The Supreme Kai Shin asked from the side, "Old Ancestor, what is wrong? Why are you sweating?"
He roared at Shin, saying, "Do you not feel it, you fool? A terrifying person has awakened!"
Shin scratched his head and said, "A terrifying person? Why didn't I feel anything?"
Old Kai no longer wanted to deal with this idiot; he was lost in thought, his heart filled with anxiety.
"It seems the universe is about to undergo another great purge," Old Kai murmured.
The scene returned to Ye Ming, where the system prompted: "Beerus the God of Destruction will arrive on Earth in ten minutes. Please prepare yourself, Host."
Because the current timeline was similar to that of the anime, it was during Bulma's birthday party, and he and Son Goku were no longer training.
Ye Ming had long since told Vegeta and the many Z Fighters about this matter.
When Vegeta first heard the name Beerus, he had nearly wet himself. At the very beginning, Vegeta had asked Ye Ming, "How could you possibly know he would come to our Earth?"
Ye Ming did not offer much of an explanation; he only needed Vegeta to believe that Beerus would come to Earth.
Vegeta did not ask further questions, for he trusted that Ye Ming would not spout nonsense, and he had already gained some understanding of Ye Ming beforehand.
Vegeta knew the terrifying nature of the God of Destruction Beerus; ever since Beerus had once trampled his father underfoot, a shadow had lingered in his heart.
That sense of weakness, helplessness, and the inability to resist kept surging into Vegeta's mind.
Ye Ming, Son Goku, and Vegeta stood at the bow of the ship, devoid of any excitement or joy for the party.
They were waiting for one person, and that person was the God of Destruction, Beerus.
Ten minutes passed quickly, and a multicolored beam of light appeared on the ship where the party was being held.
Everyone saw a purple cat-like figure dressed in simple attire, accompanied by an elegant individual holding a scepter.
"Oh, it seems you knew we were coming; have you prepared yourselves? However, I have no interest in how you knew of our arrival," Beerus said indifferently.
Just as the others were about to speak, Vegeta's wife, Bulma, said, "Guests are guests. Vegeta, are these your guests?"
Vegeta was stunned for a moment and was about to deny it, but Bulma quickly added, "Today is my birthday, and we are holding a party. We have prepared plenty of delicious food; would you like to join us?"
Upon hearing about the food, the eyes of Beerus and Whis lit up instantly. "Oh, so you are Lady Bulma, Vegeta's wife. Greetings. We apologize for arriving unannounced, but we would be delighted to join your party."
Hearing this, Bulma's smile widened, and she led Whis and Beerus toward the party area.
At this moment, the Z Fighters were in a state of bewilderment; they had prepared for a life-or-death struggle, yet it had turned out like this.
At this time, Ye Ming said, "It's fine, let them go. Let us follow as well."
The group nodded and immediately followed in the footsteps of Beerus.
Everyone entertained Beerus enthusiastically with all kinds of delicious food, while Vegeta maneuvered around them, trying to avoid provoking Beerus.
Seeing Vegeta acting so diligently, the others were so shocked their jaws nearly hit the floor.
No conflict occurred throughout, and even the scene from the original story where Majin Buu provokes Beerus did not happen, nor did the subsequent battle.
This result was exactly what Ye Ming wanted to see, because the moment Beerus descended, he had sensed the terrifying power hidden within him; as for Whis, he could only be described as unfathomable.
After the party, Beerus stood up solemnly, walked over to the group of Saiyans, and asked, "Do any of you know about the Super Saiyan God?"
Hearing this, both Vegeta and Son Goku shook their heads in confusion.
Seeing their expressions, Beerus felt displeased: Could this dream be false again? That was impossible.
However, Ye Ming knew how to bring forth the Super Saiyan God, as he was a transmigrator.
But for now, he did not want to reveal it; he wanted to see what Beerus would do next.
