Cai Lin was born into the Medusa Queen's Clan of the Snake-People Tribe. Like other Medusa Queens, she received a magical-beast Companion Soul while still in the womb. Her Companion Soul was the Violet Flame Serpent, a Rank 6 snake-type magical beast carrying an Ancient Exotic Beast bloodline. This bond accelerated her cultivation and enhanced her combat strength, but ultimately restricted her advancement at the peak of the Dou Huang realm. 110 122 124

As the Snake-People Tribe's queen, Cai Lin sought the strength to free her people from the limits imposed on them.
