Hun Tiandi spent a thousand years pursuing the Dou Di Realm. Before the main events, he and Nihility Devouring Flame had already tested the path of gathering the Dou Di bloodlines of all eight clans; despite the enormous accumulation of bloodline power, the attempt failed to overcome the Dou Di bottleneck. 1 23

He considered the decline of the Dou Qi Continent's Heaven and Earth Energy a fatal problem. In his view, the world could no longer naturally produce a Half-Emperor, much less a Dou Di; reaching the Emperor Road therefore required seizing the remaining opportunity by force. 304 386 402
