Background

Lin Dong was raised in a poor but complete family in the Lin Family's branch lineage. His father, Lin Xiao, had once been Qingyang Town's foremost young genius, but Lin Langtian crippled his meridians in a single defeat. Lin Dong trained obsessively in hopes of placing in the Clan Competition and obtaining the Blood Coagulation Vermilion Fruit to heal his father. 422 423

Yao Yan encountered Lin Dong during this period of training and offered to teach him a martial art in exchange for lodging with the Lin family. Though tempted by Yao Yan's strength, Lin Dong first considered whether his family could afford another person, showing caution and responsibility despite his circumstances. 422 423

Yao Yan cured Lin Qingtan's Fiend Devil Body, restored Lin Xiao's injuries, taught Lin Dong the Tongbei Fist and Baji Beng, and refined medicinal baths that transformed Lin Dong's physique and nourished his Spiritual Power. 423 424 426
