"How is it, Vados?"
Champa leaned toward Vados impatiently, his eyes filled with anticipation.
"Have you found the Earth of Universe 6?"
"Is it just like the Earth of Universe 7, filled with all sorts of delicious food?"
As he spoke, he couldn't help but lick his lips, his mind already conjuring images of various delicacies, his mouth practically watering from the craving.
Vados shook her head, her tone tinged with helplessness.
"I have found it, Lord Champa."
"But the Earth of Universe 6 is not what you imagine it to be."
"Not what I imagine? What do you mean?"
The smile on Champa's face froze instantly.
"Is the food there not tasty? Or are you saying the humans there don't know how to cook?"
"That is not it."
Vados explained, "The Earth of Universe 6 was wiped out centuries ago due to endless wars between humans, leading to the total extinction of the entire population."
"The current Earth is merely a desolate planet devoid of life, and naturally, there is no such thing as delicious food there."
"Wh... what?!"
Champa's eyes widened instantly, and he looked as though he had been struck by lightning, his expression turning to stone.
He clutched his head with both hands and staggered back a few steps, looking utterly devastated.
"Extinct? How could it be extinct?"
"My delicacies! My long-awaited Earth delicacies!"
The joy he had felt just moments ago plummeted from the peak to the depths, the sheer drop nearly causing him to collapse.
"Hahahaha!"
Beerus, standing to the side, could no longer hold it in and burst into laughter, clutching his stomach.
"Champa, I think you should just give up!"
"Only the Earth of Universe 7 has such delicious food and humans who know how to prepare it!"
"Your Universe 6 doesn't even have a single human who can cook, yet you want to compete with me over food? It's a joke!"
Champa's face turned from green to white under Beerus's mockery, his heart filled with anger and anxiety.
Unwilling to lose just like that, his gaze subconsciously swept over Son Goku, Vegeta, and Son Gohan, and his eyes suddenly lit up as if he had thought of a brilliant idea.
"Beerus, so what if I lost the food competition!"
Champa suddenly raised his head, his eyes flashing with a hint of provocation.
"Let's change the way we compete!"
"A Martial Arts Tournament! Let's hold an inter-universal Martial Arts Tournament!"
"A Martial Arts Tournament?"
Beerus raised an eyebrow.
"What do you want to compete in?"
"It's simple!"
Champa said, "Both sides will select five of the strongest warriors from their respective universes for a team battle!"
"The rules will be a gauntlet match, continuing until all five warriors on one side are defeated. The side that wins in the end takes the wager!"
"A wager? What kind of wager?"
Beerus looked at him with interest.
Champa took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and said:
"The wager is Earth!"
"If I win, you hand over the Earth of Universe 7 to me! I want the humans there to prepare delicacies exclusively for me!"
"If I lose, I will hand over a resource-rich planet from Universe 6 to you! How about it? Do you dare to bet?"
Beerus scoffed.
"Hand over Earth to you? You're thinking too much."
"The food on Earth is mine, and the humans are mine too. There is no way you are taking Earth!"
"Besides, this competition offers me absolutely no benefit. Why should I agree to it?"
"Don't be so quick to refuse!"
Champa hurriedly spoke up, "I have a wager!"
As he spoke, he shot a glance at Vados.
Vados shook her head helplessly and waved her staff, causing six spheres emitting a golden glow to appear on the stone table.
"These are Wish Orbs!"
Champa said triumphantly, "As long as you gather all seven, you can summon Shenron and have any wish granted!"
"I have six of them here right now. If you agree to hold a Martial Arts Tournament with me, and I lose, all six of these Wish Orbs will belong to you!"
"With these six, you only need to find the final one to have your wish granted. This should be quite attractive to you, right?"
Beerus glanced at the Wish Orbs on the table, his face devoid of expression.
To him, the appeal of the Wish Orbs was actually not that great; with his strength, he could achieve most wishes on his own.
But then he thought about it—letting Son Goku and the others witness the powerhouses of another universe would count as a decent training experience.
Moreover, he also wanted Champa to realize once and for all that the warriors of Universe 7 were far stronger than those of Universe 6!
"It doesn't matter to me."
Beerus looked toward Son Goku, Vegeta, and Son Gohan, "However, this competition is primarily a battle for you young ones. Do you want to participate?"
"Yes! Of course I do!"
Son Goku nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking at rice, his eyes sparkling with excitement, "Fighting against powerhouses from other universes? That sounds super interesting!"
"I can't wait to cross paths with them!"
Son Gohan clenched his fists, his expression serious as he said:
"I want to participate as well."
"Sparring with strong fighters from different universes will be very helpful for improving my strength. I don't want to miss this opportunity."
Vegeta curled his lips into a confident smile, crossed his arms, and said:
"Hmph, since there are opponents to fight, I naturally won't refuse."
"Ever since I mastered Super Saiyan 4 Ultra Full Power, I haven't encountered an opponent capable of making me fight seriously."
"I hope the guys from Universe 6 can last a little longer and not disappoint me too much."
Seeing that all three had agreed to participate, Beerus nodded and said to Champa:
"Fine, I accept."
"We shall have a Martial Arts Tournament, and I will show you the true strength of Universe 7!"
"Great!"
Champa was both surprised and delighted, a smug smile appearing on his face, "Beerus, you aren't allowed to go back on your word!"
"It's a deal!"
Whis and Vados exchanged a look and sighed in unison.
"These two Gods of Destruction, nothing good ever happens when they meet."
Whis shook his head, "A perfectly good food competition, and it ends up turning into a Martial Arts Tournament."
Vados also remarked:
"I hope this competition won't cause too much destruction."
Champa didn't care about any of that; his heart was set on winning the match and taking the Earth of Universe 7.
"Let's set the match for today!"
Champa said, "We'll choose the Nameless Planet in neutral space as the location. It's vast and uninhabited, perfect for a fight!"
"Fine."
Beerus agreed without hesitation, "However, I have one more condition."
"What condition? Speak!"
Champa said hurriedly, fearing that Beerus might change his mind.
Beerus pointed at Lin Fan, who was leisurely drinking tea nearby, and said with a smile:
"Lin Fan will also be participating in this tournament; he counts as a member of our Universe 7."
"What?!"
Upon hearing the name "Lin Fan," Champa's expression changed instantly, as if he had seen a ghost.
"No! Absolutely not!"
He waved his hands frantically, his attitude incredibly resolute.
"Lin Fan cannot compete! He absolutely must not participate in this tournament!"
His reaction was so intense that Son Goku, Vegeta, and Son Gohan were all left stunned.
"What's going on?"
Son Goku scratched his head and asked in confusion, "Lord Champa, why can't Lin Fan participate?"
Son Gohan also frowned and said:
"Lin Fan's strength is immense. If he could participate, our chances of winning would be much higher."
Vegeta also wore a look of bewilderment:
"This guy, isn't his reaction a bit too strange? Could it be that he's afraid of Lin Fan?"
Champa's face turned from green to white, and hearing the three of them, he became even more exasperated.
Of course he was afraid of Lin Fan!
Years ago, he had crossed paths with Lin Fan once, only to be soundly defeated and nearly obliterated by Lin Fan's energy!
The memory of that terrifying power still sent shivers down his spine to this day.
If Lin Fan were allowed to compete, the warriors of Universe 6 would be no match at all, rendering the entire tournament meaningless.
Therefore, no matter what, he could not allow Lin Fan to participate!
Champa took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the fear in his heart, and said to Beerus:
"Beerus, Lin Fan's strength is too monstrous; it's simply not comparable to a normal warrior!"
"This tournament is meant for an exchange between warriors of the universes; if he participates, it's completely unfair!"
"In any case, he absolutely cannot compete! Otherwise, I'm calling off the tournament!"
