Background / History

During the Night of the Massacre, Yoru was regarded as a mediocre sixteen-year-old Uchiha with only a single tomoe. Near death, he underwent an abrupt transformation, reappearing with a Three-Tomoe Sharingan, immense chakra, and the power associated with Indra’s template. 1 2

Yoru immediately turned against Uchiha Itachi, broke Tsukuyomi, fatally wounded Sasuke, and ultimately killed Itachi. When the masked “Uchiha Madara” appeared, Yoru identified him as Obito and disrupted his Kamui escape by striking him with memories of Rin’s death. 2 3 5

Holding Konoha’s leadership responsible for the Uchiha clan’s extermination, Yoru attacked the village, exposed Danzō’s theft of Uchiha eyes, killed Sarutobi Hiruzen, and crushed Shisui’s transplanted Mangekyō Sharingan after removing it from Danzō.
